The Davey Tree Expert CompanyWe contacted Davey for several projects: Remove diseased spruce, replant tree line including a consultation on best species and design (27 trees total in the end), and lawn treatments (discussed below). For the trees, I worked with Adam, the district manager for my area and a certified arborist. He was wonderful to work with. We had multiple consultations before starting the job; he itemized tasks so we could pick and choose what we could afford to do. Ultimately, we did not use them for the tree removal because we found a better deal with a guy that was just getting started, BUT we are so pleased we went with them for the planting. Adam was incredibly knowledgeable about what species of trees to avoid (for deer and disease), how to arrange them on our property for best outcomes, and even weighed in a bit on design. I had gotten 3 quotes for planting and Davey was not only competitive, but I also sensed we would get the best advice and the job would be done right. There was one minor hiccup once the project got started - some of the trees were planted in the wrong spot, but Adam and his team (project lead was Steve) were incredibly responsive and professional about it and moved the trees to their correct location the very next week. This was a large project and not all the trees were available from the nursery at once, but Adam kept me informed along the way. Additional pluses - they had great selection of the species we were interested in and the trees are guaranteed for a full year. Regarding lawn treatment: This is our first year doing lawn treatments. For the first treatment (pre-emergent) I was expecting them to come by mid-late may, but they didn't show when I expected, so I called and they scheduled me for the next week (I think it ended up being first week of June). Same thing happened a month later with the first of the broad leaf treatments. They were responsive when I called, but I do wish I didn't have to call. We'll see how fall treatment goes. I will say grass does look great even after a couple treatments and the price is comparable to their competitors.- michaela V.

Janices Maintenance Care LandscapingJanice and crew came to get rid of some heavy duty weeds and cut down a tree for me. The job was completed within 10 days of my call. She made sure I was happy with the work before she left and all for a very reasonable price. This is the second time I’ve hired her. She did a much bigger job for me last year with landscaping and leveling and replanting of my yard to help prevent water coming into my basement. Dan's Tree Service IncOn June 11, 2021, a pretty nasty storm came thru and took down 2 trees in my backyard. On Sunday the 13th I submitted a request for quote to Dan's Tree Service. I was told that Dan would be out to take a look. He showed up on a Harley so I knew he was cool! I used to ride myself. Anyway, the price was great and I signed the contract to move forward. He told me he could fit me in that week. I heard something in my backyard Monday morning and there they were! Dan and his crew did an awesome job and Dan knew I had an interview that day and they were all finished by the time I had to leave. I am extremely happy with Dan's service and I also got the job! Big Iron Tree WorksI very seldom give reviews, but this time is an exception. Wes and Sam felled the trees exactly where I wanted with the skill and professionalism of anyone I've seen. Dan's Tree Service IncDan and his assistant came out today to trim several trees. They were on time and did exceptional work. They consulted me before and during the trimming of each tree and cleaned up thoroughly. They covered the grass to protect it from the lift they used to reach the higher branches and raked the grass after they removed the plywood. Crew was careful not to damage other trees. Cut down 4 medium to large trees. Tree trunks and limbs were cut into 18" sections for future aging and splitting. Small limbs and branches were cut into 8 foot lengths. All tree trunks, limbs, branches left on ground as agreed. A few cut branches left hanging/caught up in other trees were removed at a later date. Crew was respectful, organized, efficient and answer questions asked. Satisfied with work done.
