This is the second time I have had D & T perform service for us, first time for the stove top. Another company had been out multiple times, and couldn't get it fixed. I tried many many times to get my new gas stove installed by Best Buy. After 3 weeks of the stove sitting in the middle of my kitchen and 4 appointments set with no one showing up I gave up and called MN Plumbing & Appliance. I don't know why I didn't do it sooner! They showed up at the right time and did the installation quickly and effectively for the same price that Best Buy quoted me and they took my old stove away for recycling.

We got our recommendation from Menards. They told us for a gas stove it would be about $90. I contacted Kurt, he was super nice and said he could come out on Monday morning (this was a Saturday) he came out as said. We needed a new gas line, and in the end- it cost $290. In the meantime the stove from moving it in and out scratched my new kitchen floor pretty bad. He apologized over and over once he noticed it, and I thought maybe just maybe he wouldn’t charge the full price, or offer to fix the floor would have been nice. But nope. We paid the full price- and now we are stuck with a floor we have to fix.

Initially the installation went fine. They did nice work, were friendly, and punctual. However, they did not install the stove up to code (fire resistant plates) and expected us to do the work. They did not give us complete instructions... in fact they gave us wrong information. Which still would have been fine if anyone had owned up to their mistake and taken care of the issue. However, when our stove did NOT pass inspection, the owner told us it was our fault and did not take care of the problem. He would not even offer to do the work at a discounted price (I would be more than happy to provide payment for cost of materials- I just feel that because his installers did not have the right materials on hand and did not give us good instructions, perhaps he could absorb the cost of labor?). We paid to have someone install our gas stove because we are not licensed gas installers and didn't even pretend to know the city codes. Overall very disappointed with lack of support and standing behind their work. As this is my first house, I now believe it when people tell me good, honest contractors are hard to come by!

Recent Review: I called, explained that the stove top worked but the oven wouldn't heat. He said he was pretty sure he knew what was wrong, asked if I could see the model number on back of stove, which I could, and he checked to see if he had a part in stock. He did! He came out 3 days later and had it working in less than 20 minutes. The work had a 100 day guarantee. Its still working great. Price included his travel time. He was friendly and really knew his stuff.

Recent Review: We called Direct Home Appliance after doing a lot of research online with Angie's List. Jon came the next morning and opened up the stove to reveal the problem. Incredibly, this 4-year old Maytag stove had a melted element. The element is within the stove and under an affixed plate so it wasn't something we'd be able to see. He said that he'd get an element and be back soon to replace it. This was done and my stove was working again. He was extremely professional in every way and very neat, also.
