Midwest PHP Speaker Information

With the challenges presented by COVID-19, we're committed to creating the best virtual Midwest PHP conference yet, bringing in speakers from around the world. Whether you are a new speaker or a regular keynote we want you to apply to speak, and hope to be able to have you in our lineup.

About the event

This year's Midwest PHP will be entirely virtual. Speakers will need to have a strong internet connection and the ability to install RingCentral Meetings or connect to a meeting via Google Chrome. Prior to the event, all speakers will be requested to attend a short tech check session, where we will cover what to expect this year and ensure there are no technical difficulties.

When the Call for Papers closes, the organizers will sort through the submissions, making their final selections. Please note that we may confirm speakers before the final submission deadline, meaning the sooner you submit the better. Speakers will be notified as soon as the selection process has been completed.

This year's package

Our speaker package for this year's event includes:

  • Full conference pass
  • Complimentary ebook
  • Speaker stipend or gift card (as budget allows)
  • Microphone or podcasting kit (as needed while supplies last)
  • Knowing you're supporting your fellow developers during this time

Tips for Submission

We strongly encourage potential speakers to submit more than one submission on more than one topic. The more submissions you contribute, the more options you give us to pick you. Be sure your talk title and abstract define the exact topic you want to talk about and what you hope people will learn from the session. In previous years, some submissions sounded interesting but we just didn't have enough detail for them to make the final cut.
