The person behind this page is a loser, expelled from an art high school and one university, who failed competitions, was arrested, and denied a visa to the UK. The person behind this page has no employment, no real plans, no real hopes, but has a strong wish to save the world with brushes in ink and watercolour.



Hi, i am Mikhail Vokabre, a self-reflecting jewish–russian raccoon, and i am behind this insane never ending quest to save the world with brushes and paint. I make slice of life illustrations, published on patreon, vokabre.com, instagram, pixiv, telegram, and i also occasionally appear on youtube with robots and side stories.

Illustrators tend to make make their own worlds, but to all, and to you i give distilled spills of our's only floating world. What begun with illustrations from Korea, continues with the scenes from Moscow on the outskirts on which i live, and Japan of late Heisei and early Reiwa periods. There will be more, but this depends on you.



None of the illustrations are sold, they are published for free online each week. Only the side commissions are the income, and even the membership on merit in Japan Illustrators' Association is not a magic wand. This journey of light and lines happens because of the brilliant travellers, those who support me here on Patreon.

To fellow travellers here i give stories, of creative process, of history, lists of art materials, all this is never told anywhere except here. Only supporters see the high-res scans. I try to remember all, i say the names on both vokabre.com and in videos, and to some i send prints and little personalised postcard paintings.

I have seen courageous ones in front of brutal police, rainbow flags against helmets, imperial palace in the largest city, nightly border crossing in between two warring countries, i play our globe's non-linear quest, i give to all of you illustrations of this beautiful and horrible quest, and to you i give my paw inviting you to join me.
