JW Home ImprovementThere are not enough superlatives to describe the wonderful work that JWHI did on our home. We called them in because our house desperately needed to be painted, some key exterior repairs were required, and the gutters needed to be replaced. Specifically, the paint on the brick exterior was dingy and badly flaking, the siding (wood) portion of the house had dry rot in places, one of the shutters had fallen off during a windstorm, and the wooden columns on the front porch had visible vertical cracks. Thomas Matamoros, Apolo Gonzalez, and the rest of the team did back-breaking work day after day, for several weeks, to address and remediate these and other issues. They power washed the exterior; expertly scraped and primed the surface to ensure it was properly prepared for painting; spent many laborious hours painstakingly repairing and repainting the columns and shutters; removed and replaced rotted wood where it existed, even in corners; communicated their progress after each workday; were extremely solicitous to make certain we were aware of and approved of the work that was being done; and, after doing a superb job painting the exterior, replaced the old, deteriorated gutters with beautiful shiny new ones. The house looks phenomenal! We are so appreciative of the thought, effort, and craftmanship Thomas and Apolo put into our home. Their work is of the highest quality, and we feel fortunate that JWHI assigned them to our project. We also appreciate that Assistant Project Manager Ever and Project Manager Cliff stopped by to offer insights and solicit feedback. We are so pleased to have worked with JWHI. JW Home ImprovementJ.W. Home improvement came out and did a thorough analysis and estimate of the various projects we needed addressed. They scheduled the work to start a couple weeks out, and they were able to start a day early. We had 2 fabulous workers at the house 8-10 hours a day. The quality of their work was superior, and they were able to complete all the work in far less time than estimated, mostly due to their efficient use of time. They communicated with us every day to ensure we were on the same page with everything. Even though all the work was outdoors, they wore face masks all the time. Exterior MedicsI worked with Yong to get an estimate to replace an exterior section of brick veneer with a window. They ran into unexpected problems and additional damage once the Team tore down the wall but they gave me options, and I switched to siding instead of real brick. We had a wonderful experience with Five Star Painting. We had a large painting job that included most of the interior of the house, and the kitchen cabinets. We got several estimates and Five Star's was by far the most detailed and easy to understand. We were able to get on the schedule quickly and the team completed the job in 4 days. The crew was friendly and incredibly professional. They cleaned up every day. Their work was immaculate and the results are stunning. Normally I would not review a company I didn’t end up hiring but I want to highlight the impressive professionalism and responsiveness of Mr Mendez. I had planned to have my front door and shutters painted and realized only a couple of days before my scheduled job that actually my shutters were in bad shape that paint could not save. Mr Mendez worked with me to assess the situation and responded quickly to texts even over the weekend, ultimately recommending that I install new shutters that don’t require painting. Mr Mendez is very knowledgeable and helpful. I will not hesitate to use this company for future painting needs.

Jose and his crew are wonderful. He was very easy to work with from the very beginning when I contacted him on a holiday with a leaky roof. He provided a very fair and detailed quote within a couple of days. His crew worked quickly and cleaned up after themselves. Jose was always there to make sure everything was being done correctly. Since I had a leaky ceiling, they repaired and repainted the drywall in my kitchen. You can't even tell where the damage was! I added on some interior painting that I didn't have the energy to finish, and they did an excellent job. I highly recommend Jose and his crew and will use him again for more projects around my house.

Patriot Painting did such an outstanding job from start to finish. Owner Scott Runkle contacted me almost immediately to bid on my relatively small job after I posted it, and his bid was very fair with a new customer 20 percent discount. He quickly worked to fit my job in his schedule, and was very accessible by text. Angel performed the drywall repairs and painting, and he did an absolutely phenomenal job, arriving on time to get an early start both days he was here and barely taking a break. He worked diligently to get the job done in such a perfect manner that I can't even tell where the water leak was in my ceiling. His attention to detail in prepping the basement ceiling for painting was also top notch, as was his clean up of the work areas upon project completion. Scott followed up to see if I was pleased with the work, and only requested payment after the work was complete--no deposit upfront. I can't say enough about this company, and it's no surprise that Patriot Painting's outstanding work has kept them in business since 1991. One of the best contractors I've ever worked with here in Woodbridge, Va. Most definitely will hire again.
