The owner of this place told me that there was previous water damage from the kitchen flooding into the basement as well as suspected mold from the previous shower in the basement. The refrigerator had a lot of mildew built up in it by the time I got here, which I'd done what I could to clean from the interior of the fridge. There's not a good system of ventilation in the kitchen for oil and steam to exit the kitchen, so cooking ends up building up a lot of residue on the cabinets and I worry that it leads to there being more food for mold and mildew in the house. I'd tried to do my laundry in this place, but when I had removed my laundry from the dryer, I'd found that the felt ring on the dryer had molded and also there was a buildup of mold of some type that I'd found on the interior rubber gasket of the front-load washer.
