Pest Proof

Something was getting into my roofline or gutter at night &, on the recommendation of my regular pest control guy who doesn't handle wildlife, I called Mr. Littlejohn. He came quickly, assessed the situation for free, found no holes, discussed with me the possibilities of what it could be, and agreed we would talk after the gutters were cleaned. The gutter cleaning solved the problem. If I ever need any wildlife removal, I will call him in a heartbeat.

They went above and beyond their contract/what was required to make sure that I and the raccoon were safe and happy. The price may seem like a lot but they come out a minimum of two times, fix entry areas, and warranty their work. I think they are competitive with other services (at least the other service I called). I have a three story townhouse with an attic on top of the third story. In addition, my roof is one of those metal roofs so parts of it are extremely steep. Finding anyone willing to go up on it when I paint it every few years is always difficult. I called them on a Wednesday and they had availability on that Friday morning (another service I called could not even come out until Monday). I warned them about the height and steepness of the roof. They said it would be no problem and for them it wasn't. They showed up 10 minutes after they said they would but had called to say they were running a bit late. The owner is young but very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. He wants you to be happy. They had quoted me $390 on the phone and that's what it ended up being. In my case, they had to come out four times and remove an extra grate and did not even hint at charging more . Once to identify the animal, survey the house, and install the one-way door while blocking all other entries to the attic/house. The second time when I called to say I was still hearing the raccoon and was worried she still could not get out. He came back, went in the attic but could not find her so we assumed she had left. Then about 8:00 that night I heard her scratching to get out and eventually saw her clawing at a vent cover in my eaves that hangs out from the bottom of the third floor/top of the second. I called and Tyler was back at my house by 8:40. He found the raccoon and then removed the vent and set up a ladder so the raccoon could get down - he then waited 20 minutes for the raccoon to get up the nerve to go down the ladder (about 20 feet). He came back the next day to remove the one-way door and ensure all entry points were sealed or grated. Some pest control or other services may trap or poison the animal but that won't really solve your problem because other animals can still come in. I would highly recommend Humane Wildlife Conflict Resolution.

We never did catch it. Perhaps I gave up too soon. The critter wasn't taking the bait, and may just have been a chipmunk. It's still there, but not creating a problem. So, at least it's not a fox, skunk, groundhog, or other real pest.

I was extremely impressed and satisfied with the quality and price of Troy Wilson's (of Humane Wildlife Conflict Resolution) humane animal removal services, as well as with Troy's professionalism and genuine concern for animal well-being. Unlike many other animal removal services in the DMV, Humane Wildlife Conflict Resolution actually removes furry intruders in a humane manner and uses effective methods to ensure that they do not return. Beware of other companies which claim to "humanely" remove animals from your home using a live trap, only to have these animals euthanized upon their capture. I was horrified to learn about Virginia's archaic law, which requires any wild animals which are captured and transported from your property to be euthanized. Human Wildlife Conflict Resolution expertly avoids this trap (no pun intended) by installing a one-way exit door for the critters, and adding ammonia to encourage the animals to leave of their own accord. The company also returns repeatedly to ensure that there are no babies left behind, and if so, places the babies in an outdoor box where the mother can easily find and transport them. In addition, Humane Wildlife is just as affordable as its non-humane competitors and offers up to ten years' warranty on its work. I highly recommend and commend this excellent company!

We had no idea what was digging under our front steps but our front pavers were sinking and nothing my husband tried was working. We called Veteran Pest & Wildlife and they set up a humane trap in our bushes. The first skunk was a surprise and he got it to his truck without it spraying. He said there maybe another skunk and he got the second one to his truck without it spraying too. The opossum he called opportunistic because it probably just went in the empty skunk nest. It took about a week to catch everything. These guys were worth every penny.

They were outstanding from the start. We discussed what was going on over the phone, and after coming out to look the situation over, we decided it was probably a groundhog (possibly a fox as I had seen some recently). A trap was set and the catching began! We (they) got a skunk, a opossum, another skunk, and finally a groundhog. I let the opossum go as they're not relocated (euthanized), but the rest were relocated. FYI, groundhogs are pretty friendly - I fed him while we were waiting for his pickup (it was the weekend). I was not charged extra for the skunks, even though they do cost more if that's thought to be your issue (understandably). I really want to express this - a real friendly HONEST bunch. Helped renew my faith in people.

I have used Morgan and his team at Veteran Pest and Wildlife for over 7 years. They are the most knowledgeable when it comes to just about everything to do with pest control. Morgan is also very knowledgeable on treatments and alternatives that consider pets and children. They have consistently taken care of just about every pest problem one could experience both in your own home and in a rental property we have. We have experienced nothing but professionalism and timeliness, and good prices too (we’ve checked). We would recommend them 100 times over.

Technicians arrived when they were scheduled. With the amount of work to be done, I thought it would take more than a day to perform, but the work was completed in under 5 hours. They did a very professional job and the work done was exceptional. However, I still have a skunk hanging on under the deck, a one way exit was installed so hopefully it will get the hint very soon and depart. Overall, the trapping services, plus the advice and consul provided by Chris made the entire experience a good one. Would definitely use them again for future nature incursions...

The Master Trapper is a great guy! Found his name on Angie's List and gave him a call to see about a problem we'd been having with the house. He was actually able to resolve my issue just by talking it over with me and not have to come out. He returned my call promptly and was so nice and helpful, and HONEST! I'm sure I'll be having him out soon given our neighborhood is overrun by bunnies, chipmunks, foxes, squirrels, and every bird ever. :) Thank you for being honest and helping me out!

We used Summit for some exterior work to our home during the summer. So when my elderly Uncle in Arlington VA called me needing assistance and advise for noises in his attic which he thought might be squirrels. I remembered SES has a wildlife division too! So I called SES and the wildlife tech went out to his home next day to assess the situation and give me estimate for animal remove and repairs. It turns out to be a female Raccoon and the tech recommended trapping from outside his home and started that day! He told me he this animal had been up there for a while due to amount of feces and urine on the insulation. Within 5 days he captured the raccoon and remove it from my uncles property. They also did the repair for where the raccoon broke into my uncles home so no other animals would could take up residence! I was relieved that I was given options of what type of repair and the warranty with each option that could be done because my uncle lives on fixed income and his budget was limited.

Great experience. After our next door neighbor had raccoon issues, I asked Jacob to take a look at our house as I had heard scratching in our attic several weeks before. Jacob was extremely professional and explained what the signs were, what he was looking for and performed an extremely thorough examination of our attic. After finishing... Jacob let me know that while there might have been a squirrel up there at one time... Nothing had been there in a while. He could have told us we needed to clean out our entire attic and redo the insulation... But his integrity is first rate! It's hard to find such honesty these days. Can't give him a higher recommendation!

Mike climbed through my attic and found no evidence of animals such as raccoons or squirrels. When he went on the roof to search for potential entry points, he discovered that my neighbor's tree was dropping walnuts on the roof! No animals after all. I was very happy with the professionalism and promptness of the service.

KP Wildlife came back to repair the damage to my roof as a result of raccoons entering. They did an excellent job, including replacing the wood, installing a guard, and new shingles. I am so pleased with their commitment to excellent service and work. Several companies have come to my home and they say they give free estimates. However, I have found that they do not provide the service that KP Wildlife provided...the minimal fee is more than worth it. If you want the satisfaction of a job well done, at a very reasonable rate, pay the fee and hire KP Wildlife, you will be happy that you did.

The service was fantastic! Expectations were set up front and he was here within hours to remove a raccoon that had been trapped in our arctic after a new roof installation. It was a scary situation for us, but he came in and removed our friend within minutes. I also appreciated that he scanned the area to make sure there would be no other visitors.

Trappro
5.0
Trappro was great - we had a couple of problems with some bats that were hiding behind shutters and a racoon digging a home under our front porch. After calling a couple of places that offered annual service plans to put some moth b**** to help deter the bats and just an short term trap to catch the racoon, Trappro came by and offered a better long term solution for both - which included putting in permenant barriers including some fencing, concrete footers and other preventative measures. For the racoon that dug beneath our front porch Trappro was able to catch the racoon and also put in a concrete footer barrier to prevent future "invasions". We also had them install covers on the exhaust vents to prevent animals form coming in there as well - and Trappro cleaned them out as well. Trappro was very professional, on time and also give a complete inspection of our entire home to full proof it from all animals. I live in a wooded area and so far no new problems to report. What I like about trappro versus the others is they offer one time long term solutions and and not solutions that require long term annual service contracts.

ACS' rep inspected the site and put a screened cap on our chimney. The main concern, however, was a possible entrapment of an animal in the chimney, The rep established that it might be a bird and proposed further work that required an invasive and rather costly procedure. He promised to send pictures of the chimney that were supposed to confirm that a bird was recently there, but never sent them, even after follow-up requests. We also didn't get to see the picture of the cap that he supposedly installed and don't know how our chimney looks now, after his visit. We asked him several questions by email after his inspection in order to make a decision about further work, but our emails were ignored.
