JMS Masonry designed and installed a beautiful new hearth and surround for our large (8' x 5') family room fireplace. They visited, prepared the quote, and performed the work in a timely fashion. JMS Masonry interfaced with the stone provider (Charles Luck Stone) regarding poor workmanship and questionable quality on the first hearth that was cut and prepared for us. It was replaced with a quality hearth, but this caused a delay in the schedule. We appreciated the stonemason's desire to achieve a high quality result. After the job was complete, we called about two minor issues and they came back to resolve them in a timely fashion. There are two outcomes that we would put in the negative column: the hearth should have been a few inches wider and there is a small (but visible) nick on the surface of the hearth.

Excellent. This is the second time we hired this company and they were OUTSTANDING. Two other neighbors and I hired them about 5 years ago to do a stone patio and the same two and I hired them again to do a water table on 3 sides of the house. Detailed work and just beautiful

Paulo Nicolau and his crew recently completed a concrete driveway and CMU divider wall demo and rebuild. The also parged the wall and reset the pavers in my patio. Of the numerous contractors I have spoken to regarding this project, JP Companies presented the best in terms of cost, warranty, design, materials, reputation, and personnel. The project planning started last Autumn, but as we finalized details the weather grew too cold for concrete work. Paulo, however, stayed in touch over the winter, advising on possible upcoming scheduling and answering numerous questions regarding care, maintenance, materials, warranty specifics, contract options, etc. When the weather finally let up they completed the work efficiently, working long days, including a Saturday, cleaning up after themselves every time, and working in a fashion presenting minimal disturbance to other parts of my property and neighbors' properties. They also managed unforeseen issues with a utility provider. The individual masonry workers did good work, finding areas not originally scoped but in need of little fixes and doing so. And, the one time the opposite occurred, i.e., they forgot to do something, Paulo had them out the next day removing the mistaken work, and redoing the area to specification. On the day before the last, I noticed literally less than a handful of old bricks near the project area which needed repointing and Paulo had his masonry worker come out and do it the next morning. In these instances, when some others might have, not so much for the materials, but for the extra labor hours, no extra cost was added to our contract. Overall, JP Companies, Inc. provided great service and workmanship, educated their customer so that informed decisions could be made and maintained a professional but friendly and warm demeanor throughout. I would definitely recommend them.

Apex Masonry, LLC did a fabulous job on my patio! The masonry work is beyond my expectations and beautiful. James, Peter and Juan helped me every step of the way from design to color of the pavers and stones, to ensure it complimented my home. The experience from start to finish was professional, seamless and each step along the way was explained. Apex Masonry is top notch customer service too! I highly recommend Apex Masonry.

Mike Cadle, owner, is an A-One professional. He knows his masonry and has a skilled staff. He is very careful to assess the requested work and to covey specs to his staff. Their work is professional and the results meet and exceed expectations. Totally reliable. I would recommend Capital Masonry for any masonry job.

Woooooaaaaah! Awesome! We were in the area moving some work, messed up some masonry, called expert, they came out and fixed it same day. Highly recommend. Prompt service, good guys, stayed in communication the entire time.

It was excellent. The work was perfectly done. The crew was incredibly neat and courteous, and the owner is as well. They're not cheap but the quality is excellent. Overall, I'm very satisfied with their services.

Apparently, ExteriorMedics doesn't want your business. On October 7, a sales consultant named Julien Freville came to my home to provide an estimate for masonry work. On October 12, Julien wrote to say he would need to take a second look with his mason the next day. On October 13, Julien canceled the second look. On October 15, Julien and the mason came back to my home for the estimate. On October 19, I wrote to ask when I would see a scope of work and cost estimate. On October 21, I left a voicemail asking the same thing. On November 5, I wrote again asking for the information. On November 30, I gave up on Exterior Medics as a lost cause. I never received any information from them and will find someone else to help me with my home repairs.

American Exteriors and Masonry did an excellent job in providing us with a beautiful brick porch and walkways around our home.They were very responsive to our needs.This masonry work has greatly improved the curb appeal of our home.

This is the third time we've used Horizon Landscaping for masonry work, and they have done consistently excellent work for a fair price. We strongly recommend them.

Service was good. I just expected a little more interaction. The project didn't turn out exactly as I wanted it to. But they did a good job. There should have been more communication. Cost was good.

If you need concrete/ masonry work done in the area. These guys should be your first call! Michael was great to work with, explained the process of the job and the price was competitive with other offers. The before and after should show you how skilled their craftsman’s are.

The need for this work was discovered in the middle of an installation of a new basement entry door. We were very pleased that Capital Masonry was able to do this work so quickly, within 3 work days of when the problem was discovered. They arrived on time and completed the work quicker than expected. When the door company came back to finish installing the new door, they commented that the masonry work was done very well which made the installation of the new door go very smoothly. We would highly recommend this company for any masonry work and will definitely use them for our any new masonry projects in the future.

We are very happy with the work Mottern Masonry recently completed for us. The quality of the work was top notch. They are true craftsman in stone selection, and masonry. The rear patio and fireplace are a real pleasure to look at. Jeff and Guy were both professional, knowledgeable, and quick to respond to our inquiries. First off, I would like to thank Mike, Garrett, Artemio and his team for doing an outstanding job for both the masonry repair and the new flagstone patio. We were extremely pleased with their professionalism, attention to detail and great service during the whole process. I contacted Capital Masonry April 25th to schedule an estimate, and Mike and Garrett came by on April 27 for an evaluation. After a 30-minute walkthrough, they provided an estimate on the spot. The estimate came out to $1,950 for the masonry work and $7,750 to build the flagstone patio. We chose Capital Masonry based off references, consistently excellent reviews on Angie's List, Google and Yelp, and they did not disappoint. The project was scheduled on May 7th and took three days to complete. Artemio and his team were on time, efficient, responsive, hardworking and experts in their craft. The crew was very diligent in cleaning up and leaving the work area nice and tidy when they were done. The masonry work is impeccable and the flagstone patio looks magnificent! The work done has added value and character to both our home and backyard. Given the level of service provided and the quality of craftmanship, Capital Masonry has exceeded our expectations. We are very pleased with our decision in selecting Capital Masonry and look forward to hiring them again for future projects.

Chimney Doctor gets a "A" for the actual chimney work and a "F" for clean-up (which averages out to a "C"). The mortar between the bricks of our chimney was beginning to deteriorate. We hired Chimney Doctor to tuckpoint most of the chimney and perform other minor work re: the cap. The work itself was done in a reasonable amount of time and looks great. That said, the chimney is located right next to our new composite deck that we had built a few months ago. I emphasized several times in writing to the company that the deck was the largest investment we had made in the house and we were very sensitive about protecting it. They acknowledged this sentiment multiple times, also in writing. Despite these requests, the furniture and the deck surfaces were a complete mess after they finished their work. The workers allowed the dust to settle on the deck and, due to the high humidity, this dust adhered itself to every surface. The company acknowledged this issue and did send an employee days later to clean the deck. Unfortunately, this was ineffective. It took me hours over several days (I had to wait for the deck to dry each time to see spots I missed) of power washing and scrubbing to get the deck clean again and to clean each item of furniture. When I informed them of this situation, they did apologize but provided no other refund or resolution. I recognize this process creates dust and that's just part of the work, but I think they could've done much more to either proactively protect the deck, to suggest that WE should've put some tarps down on our own, or to pay for a professional 3rd party company to come in and clean up. All told, if your chimney is nowhere near a nice patio/deck/etc., then by all means hire Chimney Doctor. If it is near an area you're sensitive about, then I'd look elsewhere or at least be prepared for a large clean-up effort on your part.

Mottern Masonry exceeded my very high expectations. Excellent communication and no attempts to upswell work even when presented with an opportunity. The work was stunning and done on time and in quote. I have already begun to plan my next project with them. Thank you, Mottern Masonry!

Mark Allen came out after Bright Construction Group to stain the brick to match the wall which did not stay. I called Mark, he sent his son to take a look and they thought that it wasn't expected to stay thinking it had been pressure washed. I advised them it had not been pressured washed and was told there was no warranty. I believe there should have been some sort of guarantee.
