Our deck was showing its age, but we weren't ready to fully replace it. Mike did a great job refinishing it. He also replaced a badly warped top rail on all three sides of the deck, as well as the old lattice surround that had largely rotted and fallen away. Very fair and honest - we would definitely hire again.

They did a nice job on the pressure washing and the coating. Everything around the deck was covered so nothing was accidentally stained. They finished within their estimated window. We're very happy with the deck. It looks so much better.

I dealt with Jim; he was super responsive in email, and did everything that we discussed. It never took me more than 48 hours to get a response from him. The only delays we had were weather-related. Jim at Deck Armor LLC did a great job repairing our very old and neglected deck. We thought we would have to tear it down and build a new one, dreading the expense of that, but he inspected it carefully and determined that it was still structurally sound. He pressure-washed the whole deck and replaced all the boards that needed to be replaced, adding support where necessary, and sanded and stained & sealed the deck. It looks fantastic, you wouldn't know how bad it looked before! Doing that saved us a ton of money! We had another estimate that was cheaper than his, but it was clear to us that he was very knowledgeable and experienced and we knew that was really important. We are so glad we did! Jim was very helpful and responsive throughout the project and was a real pleasure to work with!

Patriot Painting did an outstanding job. Scott was responsive with the estimate and he and Jose appeared as scheduled for both an interior job involving our vaulted-ceiling family room and our deck. Although there was some weather involved, Jose worked between the problems and did some repairs to our deck, powerwashed and stained the deck. The interior family rooms looks wonderful and his attention to detail was evident both inside and out.

Wilson gave us a very fair quote and we are glad we hired him to do the job. He worked very hard, did excellent work and completed the project ahead of schedule. He is friendly, honest and obviously takes pride in doing the job right. We would highly recommend Deckshield whether you just need to have your deck power-washed and refinished or rebuilt.

After our initial call, they were able to come almost immediately that evening (there was reportedly a cancellation of another appointment). We were shown a presentation on an i-Pad-type device. A proposal was given to us that night. It was a bit more expensive than we had expected (estimated at $8000 which was discounted to $5000). We also were concerned that the measurement of the square footage was inaccurate, so had to re-contact the manager to discuss it. He was very accessible/available, but overall we felt a bit rushed. They reportedly wanted to get started right away because of weather-related limitations. If we had had more time, we would have investigated other options (though we have heard that a deck replacement would be much more expensive) to be completely comfortable with the decision. The work ultimately seemed good (our biggest concern was our children walking on wood which had splinters); we'll have to see what happens over time. The company warranties for a year; the stain manufacturer warranties for 10 years on horizontal surfaces. Although the professionalism could be "tightened up" a bit, they have been very accessible and came back to follow up on some concerns we had (a few boards that needed to be screwed in) and to help lift a heavy table that couldn't be put back on the deck until the stain dried.

We really liked these guys. There was some problem with the paint, so, we called them to look at it and they were pretty horrified. They contacted the paint company to find out if it was some application problem or if it was their fault. They mutually agreed that the paint company would supply the products that they needed to refinish it and they would supply the labor, so, they are refinishing my deck right now. These guys are very proud of their work and consistent about making sure that you're happy with it.

R&L Pressure Washing
Mr Ortiz came on the first day and power washed a deck, a gazebo and our home. Shortly thereafter, his team of professionals refinished the deck and gazebo. The work was promptly and excellently done. His workers cleaned up after the job was completed. At all stages of the project he was accessible and within hours responded to all of my questions. Mr. Ortiz anticipated the weather and adjusted the work schedule so as not to not have the work messed up by the rain. Overall, I recommend M & L very highly.

Super Service Award Recent Review: Our 18 year old deck was in need of some TLC. We had maintained it by having it stained/sealed periodically in the past, but the floor was chewed up from wear and tear (especially dog nails). We Restore Decks stepped in and thoroughly cleaned it on one visit. Another visit followed after it dried at which point they sanded it and applied the stain (hand brushed and sprayed). They hit spots that others in the past never seemed to be able to get to. The entire team (owner, scheduler, workers) was always friendly, kept us informed and answered any questions that we had. They cleaned up, leaving no trace that they had been there, except for the transformed deck. This deck had been an eyesore for years but now it looks fantastic! We are so happy we contacted We Restore Decks. We will be using them for all of our deck maintenance in the future and we will recommend them to friends and neighbors. I have high standards and this company actually exceeded them.
Recent Review: We were in a time crunch situation (our home insurance would have been dropped if these items weren't taken care of), and Deanwood Decks scheduled us at short notice and took care of both items to the satisfaction of the insurance company. The deck and roof were old and delicate, and they accomplished these two tasks without causing further damage. They did, appropriately, advise us that roof moss removal is not necessarily recommended for older roofs, but because our insurance insisted on it being done, they did go ahead and take care of it. The son of the owner did the work, and the owner came out to assess the deck after the initial power washing was done. The B rating rather than A is because there was some initial misunderstanding because of my lack of knowledge about decks; I didn't know that our deck was painted, and when I saw how it looked after the power washing, I was unhappy. But the owner was very accommodating and professional when I called to complain, and came out and looked at the situation and explained it to me and then together we discussed options, as I didn't want the expense of repainting the whole deck; we decided on a clear stain that would protect the deck, while showing the imperfections. With the time and money I could spend, we weren't able to repair cracks in the wood; I had thought those could just be sanded, but it wouldn't have worked. So I would have preferred the owner to have done the initial assessment and discussion with me before the son started on the work; however, as I said, once he did come out I felt comfortable with the discussion and the work as it then proceeded, and satisfied with the final result. Plus, he kept with the price as quoted on the phone, even though the deck was larger than I had estimated. It is a real family business, with a decades long history.

Recent Review: It was not great. They took the coupon that Angie's List offered and then they were there until 1:30 in the morning doing the work. The scheduling was fine but it took longer than I thought it would. It took about 3 days and then the last day there were there until 1:30 in the morning. It turned out great, but they were just kind of inconvenient.
