First appointment driver was late and rescheduling required. On July 29th, worker arrived on time and immediately started working. He completed all tasks professionally. He answered my many questions and had some helpful suggestions. What he did in 3 hrs would of taken me 12 hrs at least. He fixed the hinge of a kitchen cabinet door, repaired a basement door that often stuck Caulked 7 windows Repaired a loose board on my deck Assisted in minimized my front screen door from making too much noise when it closed. Did not mention that he had omitted from estimate cabinet door replacement he had been asked to do and had indicated he would do when visiting to make the estimate. Sent a workman who obviously lacked the skills to seal back of cabinet as discussed and who did a poor job of sealing vent instead. Workman left six wire nails sticking way out into cabinet that could have caused serious injury had I not noticed them. He tried to cover up where he had removed wood at the floor level but left wide gaps and Just left the boards propped there rather than affixing them in any way. Small routine tasks (wall board repair drawer slider repair and folding door repair) seem to have been done competently though it hasn't been long enough to see if they will last

I can't thank enough for Tom's work on my cabinet. I have a thermofoil cabinet and need to have several of the doors/drawers repaired. All of the companies i contacted turned me down until i found the article on Washington Post about Tom. I contacted him without much expectation but surprisingly he replied to me right away. He fixed my cabinet with a reasonable price in two weeks. On top of that he actually just came out from ICU for an injury and he still managed to do the repaire for me. I was so grateful for his kindness and professionalism! Thanks Tom!

I originally called to get an estimate on refacing the cabinets, which turned out to be quite a bit more expensive than I had thought (Dan's estimate was in line with one of his competitors, however.). Dan suggested that, since we were otherwise happy with our cabinets, that we consider refurbishing (basically cleaning and polishing, repairing damage, and tightening). When it turned out that he and his colleague finished earlier than they predicted, Dan waived the fee for installing handles and pulls on his own initiative.

We hired Disaster Response to manage the repairs to our house due to the Derecho from summer 2012. Two large trees fell on the back of our house causing substantial damage. Some of the work was sub-contracted to Mid Atlantic Construction Enterprises, separate review. Work was paid for by our homeowners insurance. Although there were some problems managing the job initially, ultimately John LeVan stepped in to fix things and from then on the job went smoothly. I am completely satisfied with the way things turned out and appreciate his willingness to take responsibility for the earlier problems and make things right. I would hire them again although I hope I never have to.

I found Jeisen on Angie's List, called him, and he came to my house in an hour! He troubleshot the problem, and then figured out that both the drawer bracket and the mounting bracket were bent, and he figured out a way to straighten them and remount the mounting bracket. Great, quick work and he answered all my questions along the way, and showed me the work he was doing. He even had me test it before he left, to make sure the work was perfect, Magnificent job! n the way out, he said if there is any trouble with the repair, to call him and he will come back right away to make it right. He even offered to let us know how much a replacement bracket is if we were interested in replacing it. Very skilled, and obviously takes a lot of pride in his work. It is a family business, which I prefer hiring, and they are doing a great job! I thought he under-charged me, because it took over an hour for the work, so I gave him more than what he asked for, what I thought the big-name companies would have charged.

The team was very responsive, and was able to repair the door which had been shipped damaged (not their fault) They also fixed an issue with my attic fan while they waited for some paint to dry. Overall I was satisfied with the job, I just didn't think it would have taken the whole day. The job wound up costing more than I expected, even with the deal I got. The guys did good work but could give a little more attention to detail (e.g they had to re-adjust the other cabinet door after I noticed the handles didn't align from their first adjustment).

Terry came over and and looked at all the things that needed repairs and made recommendations about what kinds of repairs could be done. I felt she really spent the time to go over the details and gave me the straight answers on what the best way to proceed is. The estimate was professionally done (photos and text) by Jesse (the J of JW). It was emailed to me very promptly. We scheduled the work dates before he left. Office staff was great about modifying (very slightly) the work to be done and doing reminders (not that I needed them ... I was eager to get it done!). The primary worker was John, and he was wonderful. He was prompt, clean, friendly, gave good suggestions. He did most of the jobs, although he was joined the second day by George for a few hours George did a couple of small tasks, but mostly fixed the ceiling fan which was a big job. Both were very good and seemed to work together well, discussing how best to do things. John did some of the tasks twice because I wasn't totally satisfied (and he suggested the other methods to make the results better). A couple of times a field supervisor (can't find his card and don't remember his name) came to check on things ... I thought that was excellent. He also had suggestions and made me feel that the company really cared about their work. I also appreciate that so much of the correspondence was able to be done via email ... no phone tag, well documented, etc. The cost I listed above does not include what I paid for the coupon (which netted me a savings of $234). In essence, I got about $2,147 worth of work for $1,913. There is not one thing about which I was dissatisfied. I have already recommended them to a friend. AND I am starting to compile another list of things I'd like them to do for me in the future!
