The reno included demolition, framing for new roofline and dormers, roof and gutters, siding, new master bathroom, master closet, laundry space, wood floor and stairs, doors, millwork, tiling, masonry for a chimney extension, windows, and central air system. Chris is a great guy, very easy to work with it, trustworthy, and responsive. He hires skilled subcontractors and kept the reno moving at a good pace. Universe Home ServicesSince this was an emergency (we were concerned that the pipe might crack with no support) we went with Universe as that was the first company we contacted. The service manager (Tommy) sent over a tech (Nick) within 2 hours. Nick proceeded to remove 20ft of old pipe and replaced with new PVC and new support straps. The job took about 5 hours including the assessment and cleanup. The service was performed very professionally. We did pay $2,700, which we feel was a quite high for 5 hours of work. But, since we didn't get competing bids we can't complain.- Richard L.

JBL HOME IMPROVEMENTS INCThis is our second time using JBL home improvement. Dave and the JBL crew are excellent people to work with. They started work right away and Dave kept us informed of possible delays with furnishings due to the Pandemic. He always followed up with the cabinet and granite manufacturers and kept us informed of their progress. The crew was excellent and clean. Everyday they left all work areas clean. What I thought was going to be an expensive visit turned into a simple fix. It feels great to have somebody I can call to come out and fix things, and I don't feel taken advantage of or talked down to. Great guys. With the radiator system, I'd had people out twice to fix it, but it didn't stay fixed for more than a week. Big Apple came out, found the real problem, replaced a part, and bingo: wonderful heat for the last month! Today I showed them the strange and shoddy previous fix on a faucet (we are renters, and there are LOTS of "fixes" like this in this apartment unfortunately)- Ken said we should replace it with a thing that actually works, and we did. glorious. thanks Big Apple!

I contacted Angie's List because we noticed a leak from the first-floor bathroom down to the back room in the basement. An old pipe had split. Pasquale responded right away and came to the house to inspect the situation and provide a free estimate. He showed up when he said. When he showed up he took his time and correctly diagnosed the situation. My wife and I decided to go with him because he came across as honest and trustworthy. We are so glad we went with him. He replaced the broken pipe, the tiles, and the toilet. He will undoubtedly be taking care of another plumbing job in my home in the very near future.
