Dee Frazier Interiors

This is a mediocre interior designer who knows some things, but not everything. Example: When upholstering my headboard, velvet fabric was railroaded! I have a degree in textiles. Anyone working in fabric with nap should know nap is to be placed with smooth direction going up and rough direction of nap going down. Dee did not seem to believe me, which was an insult. Said she had to check with her upholstery person for validation. My statement was confirmed by the upholsterer and the project was re-done. This time they ran the nap with the rough side going up! At that point, it was clear to me that neither the designer nor the upholsterer knew how to work with velvet, and further, did not go to the trouble of researching this issue when it was pointed out to them by a client. Rather than demand another correction from clueless people, I let it go but will NEVER trust this company again.

Dee and her team are wonderful! Punctual, personable, and able to offer a plethora of ideas. Dee worked with me on custom drapes and upgraded lighting fixtures. She was able to offer ideas and suggestions to help stay within budget constraints without sacrificing style or quality. She'll be doing many more projects for me in the future!

The decorator was so very very nice and recommended a great renovation company for our kitchen update. However, she didn't seem to actually be in the loop during the construction - as I thought her job would be to keep us updated on the schedule and sequencing of each step. I had to ask her to make an appointment to look at tile and then when we didn't find a good fit - I was on my own to keep looking. She didn't keep of when the cabinet hardware was going to be installed so I didn't have her input on the best placement. I had pick that out and order it on my own also. I asked her for some help with lighting and somehow she totally didn't understand that I wanted transitional/modern and she recommended some "schoolhouse" styles - perhaps mid-century. Anyway I never felt she guided the project, but the outcome has continually be favorable with the contractors. I'm not sure she's earned her percentage with the contractors but the overall project will be very good when finished.

GREAT ideas! A little pricey for ideas, but if you're stuck in a rut and need a fresh pair of eyes and budget-friendly plans, then it's worth the consult.
