My husband and I just finished a floor plan change with PHB on the second floor of our home, creating an office space out of inefficiently used space in our upstairs bedrooms. We chose PHB after interviewing several other contractors for the job because we really liked Ami. Ami had a clear vision, an eye for design, all the answers to our questions, and the experience we were looking for. We can’t recommend PHB enough. We did not have to worry about a thing. We told Ami what we wanted to do and he took care of dealing with the city, pulling permits, coordinating with third party vendors, and ultimately sent Noam, our general contractor, out to put the plan into action. Noam was also great. He made sure we were happy with the progress each day we were here and had no issues implementing last minute changes or requests. We were very worried about pulling the trigger on this project after hearing horror stories from our neighbor, who just finished building their house, of weeks of delay, trash all over their lot, and contractors never showing up when they said they would. We had the opposite experience with PHB. Daisy sent us a schedule on a weekly basis setting forth who would be coming to the house and what they expected to accomplish each day. Anytime we had a question, we got an answer from Daisy within the hour. There were also no delays with PHB. PHB had workers here almost every day. Any minor delays we experienced were due to vendors not getting us materials in time (our sliding glass door out to the deck) or waiting on the city to send an Inspector out. The workers arrived early every day but waited until 8 AM to knock on the door and pick up where they’d left off. Noam also made sure his workers kept the site clean (on one occasion having the workers come back because they did not vacuum the stairs, something we hadn’t even noticed!) Noam also demonstrated an attention to detail requiring his workers to repaint an area he did not think integrated the old space with the new enough. We really appreciated that. My husband and I are planning to build a third floor out of a very large crawl space under our house in the near future. We are so glad we went with PHB because we now have a contractor we can trust for our next project. Even though we are looking at a timeline of 1-2 years, Ami has already prepared a design plan, which we love, and obtained answers to questions we had about engineering and permitting. We can’t wait to work with PHB on our next project.

Gina Perrin and Laura Cox were very knowledgeable sales people, and both took the time to answer all my questions, as well as help me pick the best possible package for my home. The installation could not have run more smoothly. Gabriel and his crew: Jose S., Carlos, Eddie, Manuel, Jeremy, Luis M., and Justin R. were fast, friendly, and professional. Installation of 27 windows was completed on a 2-story house in about 7 hours! I was blown away. They cleaned up behind themselves really well, too. My house is now quiet, cool, and beautiful! Neighbors have already stopped by to compliment the new look and ask for referrals. Thank you, American Vision Windows.

The initial contact with the office was pleasant and the ease of obtaining an appointment was great. The Project Manager, TJ Pitillo, was very courteous, professional and explained the process, quality of Windows, window measurements and projected wait time for installation. We highly recommend him. Todd, the staff who measured the windows, was very prompt, courteous, professional and knowledgeable in what he was doing. He answered our questions satisfactorily and patiently as well. We had American Windows install our bedroom windows in 2005 and we were satisfied with the quality of work and response to issues or questions that came up in the interim. We would highly recommend this company to our friends and neighbors.

Totally great group. We had them paint the exterior trim of our two story house (and patch a couple stucco cracks), and they were everything you could ask for: careful, attentive, easy-going, quick at communicating, thorough, patient. Really ideal. High recommend.

  • Supreme Remodeling Inc

I worked with Supreme Remodeling last year to rebuild house for me in Burbank last year. It was a long and arduous project that involved demolishing 50% of an old house down to the studs and then building an attached addition from the ground up. I sent out my completed architectural plans to at least 15 different companies, and took interviews with many of them. Received bids from maybe 5-6 different ones. Here's what the difference was. First of all, Micky the owner of Supreme remodeling took the initial meeting himself. He was in no way pushy or salesy in any way. He was patient (it took a month for me to come to a decision). I was able to look at ACTIVE construction projects that he had going on. He was extremely knowledgeable on all of the new building trends and he has a good eye for design. Once I signed on, it took about 9-10 months to complete. He has a good roster of subcontractors that he works with. But his inside guys Eddie and Ronell are outstanding. In the end the real difference that sets Supreme apart has to be the service. Micky and his staff are very available and responsive. Even on a Sunday night he's active and communicating the following weeks work. If there's an issue he's on top of it. And even though the initial cost of the project was high, you definitely get what you pay for and to be honest, it is a very common experience to have contractors to offer you a lower price just to rope you into a situation where they constantly barrage you with extra charges during the project because they weren't "in the contract". All in all I would definitively work with Micky and supreme again in the future on any projects that I have coming up.

  • Berger's Painting
    5.0
I needed exterior painting done at my house. I received a quote from 5 different companies. The others told me what they wouldn't do and then their high price. Berger's was the most reasonable. Steve was very patient and informative. He walked me through what the paint project entailed. There was stucco work that needed to be done prior to painting which they took care of fabulously. On a daily basis his guys came out every morning on time, cleaned up before leaving, and were very helpful in answering my questions as well as they were progressing through the project. They even did a few extra things that I had not asked them for in regards to painting. The project took one week to complete. Two days later I noticed there were a few spots that needed touch-up. The guys came back out right away to retouch. I am very pleased with the work they did. I would definitely hire them again and would definitely recommend them to others.

  • Construction Masters

If you have ever seen the show "Fixer Upper," then you have an idea of how much Construction Masters transformed our home and lives. Mickey and his team took our small 1960s kitchen with very limited storage space/living room and redesigned a beautiful and efficient kitchen, living room, and bathroom with a modern open floor plan. Throughout the process, Mickey saved us money and time where he could by advising options on materials/parts and solving unexpected problems that came up along the way. You can trust Mickey and his team to get the project done right. His crews was not only professional, but they also respected the work site and our privacy. While the remodel was going on, we had multiple neighbors compliment on not only the progress, but how clean and neat the work site stayed. We are so happy we found Construction Masters they are the BEST!!!

Moshe, Mickey and the guys at Construction Masters did a stellar job on our huge home remodel. We added a second story to our small 2-1 craftsman bungalow in Westwood, nearly doubling it in size. We also moved a kitchen and living room wall and completely gutted our very old kitchen. We basically rebuilt the entire home, while doing out best retain and restore the character of our older home. We had tried to start this process over a few years, running into snags and unethical contractors along the way, and are so happy that we landed in the capable hands of this team. At every step along the way, we felt honestly communicated with and cared for on a personal level. They were top notch as well as courteous and considerate of our neighbors. Not only did they do a remarkable job and make our house the talk of the neighborhood, they went above and beyond to really be sure we were always 100% happy with all of the work being done. Even with the pandemic hitting right in the middle of our project, they managed to finish within our original timeline as promised. I would without a doubt recommend them for any project you have.

  • Horizon Construction & Remodeling Inc
    5.0
Our kitchen was remodeled by Mark Besnos and Enna at Horizon Construction and Remodeling. We chose them after seeing all the great reviews on the Houzz app. When we walked into their showroom, we were warmly greeted by Diana who made us feel very comfortable. Their product display made it easy for us to put our ideas together. Mark’s crew did a wonderful job. Kudos to his crew, they really worked hard. Joel Chavez was a standout carpenter/jack of all trades doing much of the major work and tying together any imperfections and any loose ends that arose with a great attitude, expertise, and skill. He’s quite an asset to Horizon. Antonio Garcia who did our fabulous backsplash and Tom Tzur was the electrician. Mark ensured that each phase of the project was done correctly and completed on time (about 8 weeks). We gutted and replaced our 80’s kitchen (10’ by 10’) including the small dining area. We kept the same layout but switched the positions of the sink, stove and refrigerator. Enna helped with all the communication and paperwork and scheduling of the inspections, payments etc. Thanks to Mark, Enna, and their crew, we have a beautiful modern kitchen with two toned white and blue cabinets. Lessons Learned: 1. Stick to your budget and have extra funds for unforeseen things because for sure there will always be something that will come up. Understand what is and is not included in your contract. Don’t just assume that everything is included. 2. Be flexible with your time. There is a general outline of what jobs will be done in order mostly during the weekdays but things may change with short notice. 3. Check that your materials/colors are in stock before you sign your contract. Due to the Covid and political environment, some materials may take longer to get or not at all. Some newer colors may cost more. 4. Look at your cabinet colors in every light. We first looked at an espresso-colored cabinet that looked like black in shade and looked light cherry colored under the full sun. 5. Know what crown molding you want for the top of your cabinets…having pictures will help. 6. Ask Mark if you are not sure of any detail or work that has to be done. Do not wing it…else any fixes may cost you extra. 7. For lighting such as chandeliers, measure everything. Use you tube to learn to measure your lighting fixtures. 8. Certain changes such as electrical, structural will require city permits and inspections. Your city’s inspector’s availability will cause delays up to one week. 9. Choose your grout color for the backsplash…apparently there’s a ton of them (we were looking at different shades of grey because white is too hard to clean). 10. Choose your door and doorknobs ahead of time. Check to make sure it works including deadbolt after it’s been installed. 11. Choose your baseboard style and size. 12. Choose your light dimmers switches. 13. Backsplash, one tile was an off color so be sure to inspect the backsplash, so if any tile is an off color you can ask to replace it with one of your other tiles, you will have extra tiles to work with. 14. Save a cabinet piece in case you need to do future touchups. You can go to the paint store to have them match the color.
