    Prohibiting end-to-end encryption is not the way to keep people safe online. If you live in the UK, tell members of Parliament that banning encryption puts everyone at risk.

    In Russia, people face fines, prison sentences, intimidation, + violence for posting LGBTQIA+ content. In 2020, an activist was fined 75,000 rubles for posting a photo & the words, "Family is where the Love is. Support LGBT+ families." (via )

    In the United States, public schools are required by federal law to use software to block pornographic websites, but schools often use that software to block sites that discuss LGBTQIA+ issues & resources that are not sexually explicit. (via )

    In Egypt, authorities used the social networking app Grindr to track down and persecute LGBTQIA+ people by using fake profiles to gather evidence that was used to imprison, torture, and prosecute LGBTQIA+ people for "illegal sexual behavior." ()

    Snowflake works because of the thousands of volunteers that run proxies. Proxies are intentionally lightweight and easy to set up! You can help users circumvent censorship simply by installing a browser extension. Chrome: Firefox:

    What's Snowflake? Snowflake is a pluggable transport that uses a combination of domain fronting and peer-to-peer WebRTC connections between clients and volunteers to circumvent Internet censorship. Snowflake aims to lower the barrier for running anti-censorship proxies.
