Gutenberg

Descrição

“Gutenberg” is a codename for a whole new paradigm in WordPress site building and publishing, that aims to revolutionize the entire publishing experience as much as Gutenberg did the printed word. Right now, the project is in the first phase of a four-phase process that will touch every piece of WordPress — Editing, Customization, Collaboration, and Multilingual — and is focused on a new editing experience, the block editor.

The block editor introduces a modular approach to pages and posts: each piece of content in the editor, from a paragraph to an image gallery to a headline, is its own block. And just like physical blocks, WordPress blocks can added, arranged, and rearranged, allowing WordPress users to create media-rich pages in a visually intuitive way — and without work-arounds like shortcodes or custom HTML.

The block editor first became available in December 2018, and we’re still hard at work refining the experience, creating more and better blocks, and laying the groundwork for the next three phases of work. The Gutenberg plugin gives you the latest version of the block editor so you can join us in testing bleeding-edge features, start playing with blocks, and maybe get inspired to build your own.

A horrible page builder, to avoid. Install Classic Editor plugin as an alternative, or other page builders available in the market (check its reviews to find out what users think of Gutenberg...)

Thanks to the Gutenberg my website (which includes my WEB SHOP!) is completely useless since I can't even UPDATE or SAVE changes in my widgets! Also, all the widgets are EMPTY after the latest update. I've wasted hours on researching and trying to find a solution but with no luck! I've even tried to bypass the plugin by disabling it but again with no luck! I hope developers are reading this and will find a solution ASAP!

I can't stand this editor. It is clunky, ugly, unintuitive and hard to use. My clients can't stand it either. And now, this HORRIBLE editor is part of the widgets area!!! This is the worst thing to EVER happen to WordPress and will likely be its ultimate downfall. I am already looking for alternative platforms. Sad to say, after making websites with WordPress for over 10 years... it's time to find something new. Gutenburg is the end of WP 🙁

Bullshit - Bingo. The Peter Principle “In a hierarchy every employee tends to rise to his level of incompetence": the theory that people are promoted (= given more important and difficult jobs) in an organization until they reach a level where they cannot do their job well: His election to high office shows the Peter Principle at work in politics...

From all the reviews, comments and posts WordPress team should have already aware that Gutenberg is a failed attempt. Why are they not discontinuing this? Further I love WordPress and all the features of it except this one. This is the only thing I hate about WordPress.

Thank goodness there are plugins to get rid of Gutenberg. This makes writing a quick blog post take ten times longer. I just want to write. I love the classic editor. It's perfect and does everything so well. Why would I ever want anything else? I can learn anything, but that doesn't mean I want to use something that makes blogging take LONGER for no reason at all. Get rid of it. Make it a plugin, but go back to classic editor 100%. Oh, and putting widgets on blocks? No, just absolutely no. Even worse. Classic or NOTHING!
