i know Xbox fans are upset that Sony doesn't get this same line of questioning, but imo it's fair because Bethesda games have such a large playerbase outside of an ecosystem. Horizon Zero Dawn simply isn't nearly as big as Skyrim.https://kotaku.com/starfield-is-an-xbox-exclusive-and-pete-hines-is-sorry-1847111912 …

anyway xbox fans should be happy. we get bethesda games exclusively on xbox and free on day one man. that's a huge huge deal and i'm still not used to that idea. mock bethesda bugs all you want, no one makes games as big as they do, not even CDPR.

Not to mention Fallout 76 walks the line of being a different, albeit related genre than regular mainline Bethesda titles. Fallout 4 is the last Single Player focused open world game they made, and while aspects of it are certainly critiqued, its reception is way better than 76

Maybe the quality of that game improved, but everything about its monetization and merchandising is still laughably contemptible. They sold models from Fallout 4 for money. And not just like, a dollar, either.

I bought the game at launch, put in probably ~100 hours and then dropped it like a rock. Never put any money into the microtransactions. Just picked it back up and still feel zero need to spend any extra. It's annoying, but very easy to ignore

I literally redownloaded Fallout 76 two days ago and put several hours in and, uh, surprise - it's really fucking fun and runs great on PC now

I want to disagree with that but then I start thinking about Cyberpunk, sitting alone in my unfinished list

Respectful, but what about spiderman, sony doesn't own the ip they just own the movie rights. they went as far as to stop 3rd party devs(square) to put the character on xbox. spiderman has much much bigger history from comics to movies to games.
