There was a hitch -- unexpected wall stud where ducting should go but the installer, Damen, was undaunted and angled the duct work around it. Very pleased with final result.

Kevin took down our old undercabinet microwave and installed a ranged hood with duct. We have wanted to install such range hood for a long time but couldnt find a reliable person to do it. We are glad that we found Kevin through angie's list, The whole project went very smoothly. Kevin was nice to work with and very professional, he is also kind enough to give us a discount. I think we found our on going handy man from now on.

Steve and Charles arrived on time and began work immediately after introducing themselves. Steve checked to see if I had any special instructions or needs. The work was done in 30 minutes and they took all the trash away and vacuumed the area well for any residue or dust.

Michael was there approximately 1 hour after I called, was efficient, personable and very helpful. Extremely reasonable rates for a high quality job. I made an appointment to have more work done by him at our home and will never call anyone else. 5 Stars- recommend highly.

Michael Cleveland was able to come over very quickly and helped me resolve several problems. The main one was a hood vent fan that had debris from storm damage to roof lodged in it. He was able to disassemble, clean and put it all back together in very short order. He then installed several patio lights for me. He also gave me some really helpful advice on how to repair a damaged electrical outlet box. This enabled me to make the repair myself and eliminated the need to replace the box and the likelihood of damaging drywall, etc. Michael seemed very competent and familiar with a wide range of handyman type problems. He was willing to give advice and share tips with me as well. I am very pleased and would recommend him to anyone.

Handyman Connection of Carmel

Bill Hutson of Handyman Connection at 5610 Crawfordsville Rd, Suite #1902, Indianapolis, IN 46224 was scheduled to extimate the cost of installing a range hood exhaust fan over our kitchen stove between 3 and 4 p.m. on 8/1/2012. Around 2:45 p.m. Handyman Connection called to indicate that they were running ahead of schedule and could they come early. We agreed and he gave us the estimate and performed to work while onsite. There was some "gerry rigging" needed to get the range hood installed, but it was done quickly. It was completed with the help of my husband which made it easier with two people working together.

Eternity Construction

Jason from Eternity Construction gave us a rough estimate over the phone when we were shopping around for contractors. We decided to hire Eternity Construction. Jason showed up on-time and got to work right away. Jason removed the old range hood and installed a new over-the-range microwave with hood. The job included installing inside the cabinet an outlet for the microwave, drilling a hole in the bottom of the cabinet for the cord to go through, and installing the microwave itself. Jason also installed oak end panels on both lower and upper cabinets. Jason was friendly, professional, and cleaned up the work area when he was finished.

Jack Apollos

After seeing so many positive words about this man on Angies List, I contacted him with confidence. Since we just started our rental business, we hoped to build up a good relationship with him. We just bought this house. Jack told us it would take him two days to finish the task on the list we gave him and each day, he will work for 7(from 8-3) hours for $175. He expressed appreciation of us giving him the work since someone just canceled on him that week. We left him the key to house and totally trusted him. After the first day which is Monday, he called to tell us he will take part of Wednesday to complete the job. We went over to the house and found out all he did that day was to fix two ceiling light fixtures (my husband already took down the ceiling fans and put up the fixtures), replace bathroom vanity faucet and fix the leak, put up the range hood. Later, he told me it took him two hours to figure out the light fixture wiring. Around 3pm on Tuesday, he called and told me it would take whole day Wednesday and possibly Thursday to finish the job. He said for his two day job, we owed him $445 since the first day, he mainly performed electrical and plumbing work which he charges $30/hr instead of $25. Anyway, by end of Wednesday, we would owe him $620 and all the mini blinds he left not hanging up by then, we will either do it ourselves or have him come back on Thursday. On the other hand, he went ahead and did a few things which we didn't ask him to do such as caulking the tub etc. (we already scheduled to have the tub reglazed and my husband removed the old caulking.). In the evening, my husband told me he stopped by the house that day around 8am Jack wasn't there and around 2:15pm Jack had already left. So I called Jack and when I asked him what time he left house, he told me it was around 2:30pm. After I told him what my husband told me, he explained that he went to hardware store at 7:30am and 2pm to pick up materials for the repair. Later he gave us the receipt. After I expressed disapointment with the inaccuracy of his original estimate and reminded him of one job on the list that obviously he was not clear about and didn't bother to ask. He got upset and saying since he didn't think he would have any other way to satisfy me, he better off just stop what he is doing and asked us to pay him for the two days he's worked. We paid him on Wednesday morning and had to find other people to finish what he has left off such as texturing the 4x6 repaired ceiling, fix the minibarn doors etc.. My husband hung up all the miniblinds and fixed a light switch that Jack failed to do. What upset me more is, a few days later, we had a heating/cooling person to service the furnace and A/C. He went up to the attic and happened to find out the return duct line Jack claimed to have fixed was not repaired properly. If he didn't know how to do the job, he could have just told us and took it off from the list. We were extremely disapointed with this man.

JCS Complete Home Renovations LLC

It went very well. I only have a couple of "complaints" although they are not anything that would prevent me from doing business with JCS again. I was expecting the owner, who I had dealt with in the "estimation" process, to be there to do the actual work. However, the day of, he ended up sending two other workers (subs) to do the work because they had more experience with gas lines. This was actually welcomed, I would much rather have experience with the work over familiarity with the project itself. The workers who showed up were more than competent and friendly. My second complaint is that when they were done with work they left a number of minor things unfinished that I had to complete myself...namely cleanup after the work (muddy boot prints on carpet and hardwood floors and sawdust) and trash in the crawl space. They also had to borrow one of my drills to complete the work easier. They had their own tools, and they would have been able complete the work without my drill, but it made their work much easier.

Recent Review: Very good. The technicians were friendly, professional and showed consideration and concern for the state/cleanliness of their work space and our home. I was given a one hour range of when to expect the technicians and they arrived within, but at the end of that range. Still very good considering most service companies I've worked with prior wanted from 2-4 hour window and still arrive at the end of that window of time.

Recent Review: My air conditioner stopped working, I called Johnson and they were available to come out that morning. The technician (Shawn) called ahead and arrived promptly within the provided service time frame. After inspecting the systems was notified the compressor was shot on the air conditioner and the heat exchanger on the furnace was cracked - I was looking at a new entire system. He walked me through each of his findings ensuring I understood. We discussed options, he was very knowledgeable allowing me to make an informed decision, I choose to go with a mid-range system with digital programmable thermostat that connects to my Nexia system. We setup next day installation, he informed me who would be my installers and walked me through what would occur. The installers (Jon/Daniel) called prior to arrival and were right on time. They got quickly to work. They were quiet, efficient. courteous and clean. (All technicians wear booties in the house). When completed, they walked me through work that was completed and my new thermostat - I am now enjoying my cooled house.

Recent Review: Started with Courtney the customer service rep.. Very pleasant and assuring that work would get done today and that, 'the day doesn't end until the work all gets done'... THAT was great to hear! Kyle was the technician. He showed up, was friendly and professional. Did a very complete inspection. We discussed the findings, and the options. Dealing with repairs like these, the tension level is already high, just waiting to see what it is going to 'cost'. Kyle represented Summers Plumbing Heating and Cooling very well and put my mind at ease. The options were clear and the choices ranged from short-term to long-term solutions... just what everyone likes to know to make an informed decision. Highly recommend this company!
