Magnolia Home Remodeling GroupWe had a three “room” project completed in November 2020: Framing - Removed back wall of house and part of the roof, rebuilt ceiling, installed beam, and rear wall Kitchen/Dining Room - Full gut job….new electrical, insulation, walls, floors, backsplash, appliances, paint, fixtures, etc. Deck - New from scratch. 17x17 with a pressure treated frame and timbertech composite decking, rails, balusters, steps, etc. ...since they were going to be replacing the roof where the new section was built, they also replaced our entire roof. The cost was reasonable relative to what it would’ve been to replace just the smaller portionn of the rebuilt roof. The subcontractors were all very professional and quality was high across the board. Here are the important points: -Communication - Stellar for the entire duration of the project (negotiating, permits, selections, day-to-day, inspections, etc.). Vic was our point person but had another person help when needed (permits, payments, etc.). When I needed something, it was Vic I worked with. We worked almost exclusively by text but got on phone calls when the situation called for it. -Schedule - Before we started the project, Magnolia claimed the project would take 4 months. I believe this would’ve been projected to be 3 months if we weren’t operating in a pandemic but the materials were a concern based on the initial plans the architect drew up. The entire project ended up taking 9 weeks from demo day 1 to the final inspection. Very impressive. -Pricing - Magnolia is not cheap but you’re paying for a contractor that’s experienced and proven in certain areas (e.g. kitchens, roofs, etc.) and has established relationships with the subcontractors they use. -Subcontractors and quality - Kitchen designer was flexible with what we were looking for but we had another kitchen that we used as a near mirror-image of what we wanted. The one thing that may be a concern here is that if you don’t know what you want, there might be a lot of back-and-forth to arrive at a final design. Roofers, tile/paint crew, etc. were all top notch. Overall a great experience. This was a high anxiety experience going in and Vic was professional and kept things moving very quickly and well ahead of schedule.- Anthony D.

Bill’s upfront estimate visit included a full explanation of the work to be performed and how the system would solve our water seepage problem, with a price proposal provided on the spot. Very reasonable compared with a second proposal that we obtained. The work was completed in two days as promised. The crew was well managed and did their work methodically through completion, removing all debris and leaving the premises and work area neat and clean. Down Under Waterproofing & Foundation RepairWalt, Max, and the whole crew were absolutely amazing. This was a HUGE project. We basically had no foundation on the back/ side of our house and the 2nd floor overhang was poorly supported. Prior to us purchasing the house the previous owner added a very large addition on top of a very old and poorly constructed “house” . The inspection at purchase did not uncover the issues that we found about two years after when all of the cosmetic touch ups wore off. Walt’s crew ( Supervised by Max) replaced the foundation wall , added piers under the house, replaced all of the floor joists along with new piers, beams, and headers on the 40ft span at the back of the house. This is just some of the larger items because I would be here forever if I listed everything they had to do. Walt kept us informed during the whole project. From start to finish we were on the same page. The house had so many hidden issues but the crew worked through all of it. The price was very reasonable and less then all of the other estimates from competitors. We didn’t have a bunch of surprise increases along the way. He didn’t try to scare us or sell us anything we didn’t need. They are honest and reliable. The results were amazing and so far beyond our expectations !!! They are all so talented. We couldn’t be happier with our choice of contractors!! They have been done for almost a week and we miss them being here already. I will recommend them to everyone.- Robin M.

I have a 91 year old elderly father with a heart condition, and had to displace him into a hotel, so that the Basements.com team could remove and remediate my mold and set up our kitchen for a remodel. After 21 years of neglect and rotted out kitchen tiles and closets, this team led by manager Gary came in and performed the impossible. They not only removed the mold in two days, but restored the apartment into a livable condition for my father, and reset all our appliances while preparing for our remodel. Further, I have to deal with both a difficult co-op and insurance company, along with my brothers who are charged with his care. Gary even built a safe runway for my father and his hands on approach gave me comfort even when we hit a few hurdles. I am excited for the next phase!
