Total Home & LawnMarcus & his excellent crew did an outstanding job. They went way and above our expectations. We now have a total new look to our home. Not only did they remove the old sod, put in a sprinkler system and landscaped our front yard totally, they built a beautiful deck, built a concrete ramp from the driveway to the deck, took down a huge brick wall partway that was having issues with arches, built new gates to the deck & the front entrance. The crews were amazing, polite and cleaned up after themselves every day. I would hire Marcus again in a flash! Down to Earth Landscaping and Lawn CareWe had an outstanding experience with Jim Hall and his crew at Down to Earth Landscaping. Our project included replacing the six-foot wooden fence around our backyard, adding an additional gate, installing a rock border within the rear fence line and around a tree, installing river rock and greenery, rocking-in an area along one side of our house (to control drainage and remedy erosion issues), adding two flagstone extensions to our existing patio, adding rock borders around a front shrub bed and tree, and adding a flagstone walkway along the length of our driveway. From the beginning, we found Jim personable, attentive, and flexible. Going in we only had a rough idea of what we wanted to do in terms of overall design, and we had no consensus about plant selections. At our initial meeting, Jim patiently listened and offered some suggestions. He returned a few days later with a couple of design alternatives mapped out on paper. He gave us options to choose from for the plant selections and he helped us weigh the pros and cons of different choices. He was patient answering questions and he was clearly focused on making sure we would be satisfied with the results. Jim has a professional and focused team who worked diligently for the nine days they were onsite. The overall quality of the finished work is excellent. The fence is well-constructed. It is completely put together with screws (zero nails) and the materials are excellent quality. Jim did an outstanding job matching the color of the rock and stone selections with the stonework on our house, and we are pleased with his recommendations on the plant selections. The overall aesthetic of the entire job is outstanding. We are exceptionally pleased with the results.- Steve G.

Mr. Martinez and his crew were very professional in preparing the foundation such as precisely installing rebar steel for the pouring of the concrete, they paid attention in finishing touches such as edges, curves, and unexpectedly added a very needed step. They spent time on cleanup and presentation of finished work. Price was very reasonable for such excellent and detailed work. We most definite hire this company again and refer them to friends and family for their own projects.

Jared was our technician and did an outstanding job. Our salt water pool had been breaking down the flagstone to a fine sand that would settle to the sun shelf and pool steps. With brushing it would ultimately end up in the pool D.E. Filter which required it to be cleaned more frequently. Since we had Texas Stone Sealers apply their proprietary sealant, the fine sand no longer shows up and the flagstone looks far more attractive than it did before. We went for the darker, richer look (but not the wet look) and have been very pleased. It has been three years since our initial application and the salt water pool protection is still working great. We opted to take advantage of their “once in the first five years” warranty reapplication for a nominal fee to restore the rich, darker look we had originally. Jared has also been our technician for the reapplication. He has been very thorough and when we had a small area that needed a fix he was responsive in fitting us into his busy schedule and our large deck once again looks awesome! One comment for those with flagstone or other natural rock issues with a salt water pool. Much of the material I read suggested that unless the rock was sealed at the start, the problem with fine disintegration of the flagstone into a sand would be very difficult to stop. I can’t speak for all materials, but the Texas Stone Sealers product did successfully stop the problems we had been having even though it was not applied until almost ten years after the pool and deck were installed.
