Guardian Chimney Solutions LLCGuardian came out for a chimney cleaning in the fall and let us know that we needed a chimney rebuild, firebox reconstruction and a flue liner. Though this was more than we anticipated, Joseph, the owner, responded quickly to all of our emails & texts, gave us a clear breakdown of costs and helped us work with our insurance company. His team returned in the spring for the work wearing masks and were all polite and efficient. They took care to keep our house clean during the indoor work, left our yard spotless and sent photographs of the finished work from on top of the chimney and down inside. It looks great. They rebuilt the steps using as many of the existing stones as possible, cut new stones as necessary to match, filled in missing mortar, powerwashed, and sealed. Some of the work performed by Unlimited Masonry was not satisfactory and when the work was completed. This was communicated to the owner, Sam. He told us to allow it to dry and if it still wasn't what was expected, they would return and perform the required repairs. Based on his word and handshake, I paid for the work in its entirety ($3170). After a couple of weeks, I contacted Sam and he agreed to perform the repairs. A repair date was scheduled, but Unlimited Masonry never showed up or called to provide an update. Matter of fact, I haven't heard from Unlimited Masonry, since Sam took payment. I logged a formal complaint with Home Advisor, and they were able to reach Unlimited Masonry, but they refuse to make any repairs AND aren't willing to go to Arbitration and let an independent party, review this dispute. The integrity of a business is its greatest attribute. I feel Unlimited Masonry lacks this because they committed to making repairs, and I now believe their only intent. THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN. Also, most reputable businesses would stand behind their work and would have no issue with Arbitration. The fact that Unlimited Masonry refused Arbitration says volumes about them as a business and the owner's character.

They've all worked with me for the last 20 years. Experienced with working with condo associations and large building tuck pointing, brickwork, and stone work.
Recent Review:
In Aug./Sep. 2019, Rogers Masonry did a tear-down of our decrepit stuccoed chimney, followed by a beautiful brick re-build. The project posed some every unique challenges that Roger handled with a high level of professionalism and diligence. He is exceptionally knowledgeable in all chimney-related matters and provided almost-daily progress reports to document the work his crew was performing. His communication was exemplary, and he was responsive to our questions/concerns, all of which he promptly addressed. We were especially appreciative of the many pictures of the ongoing work that Roger provided throughout the project. We have already had the opportunity to make a referral for Roger and hope to work with him on another chimney project in 2020.

We've been installing concrete, brick, and stone in the Twin Cities for over 80 years. Our employees have been with us an average of 20 years.
Recent Review:
This is one of the worst contractors we've ever worked with. They do poor work, don't build to code, and have deceptive pricing. I would strongly encourage you not to hire them. We hired them to remove a retaining wall and replace our steps and sidewalk. The new sidewalk looks awful, way worse than the old one they replaced. They also didn't remove all of the old wall, and they didn't fix the grade of the hill, which they said they would. My wife and I spent most of the weekend after they left fixing the grade, removing the rest of the wall, and raking up all the little pieces of concrete they left. My neighbor also caught them throwing garbage bags in a dumpster he had in his driveway. And they also didn't replace the railings on the steps (which are required by code). They didn't tell me they weren't going to replace them until after all the work was done, and even then only after I asked them twice. So I didn't have a chance to keep the old ones (they had already taken them away). I probably wouldn't have hired them in the first place if I knew the cost of the railings wasn't in their bid. But, that was probably their goal, to make the bid look lower than it was.
