I would highly recommend Don from Ambassador Homes to build your custom home. They are a true custom builder that can meet your budget. When you say in Texas that you are building a home, well this is real custom building one-on-one with the builder, not like your everyday tract home builder. I found him on the HomeAdvisor website.
He was the only builder that responded to my search and on the same day. However, he does get pretty busy. In my case, I had to wait for him to complete another project but he contacted me back as promised and it was worth the wait. Once we started the project, he was always available.
I did not feel that I have to compete for his time knowing that he has other building projects going at the same time. The engineering background of Don also comes into play. He has a reputation that he builds strong and sturdy homes. He has a lot of say with the building process.
The framers have additional support beams required, they even named them after him. In the end, you will move to a house with so many upgraded features and design that you never expected for the cost of the house you built. It was such a fun experience that I still enjoy thinking about it, even if it happened three years ago. Good luck and enjoy the ride!

Everyone we have had contact with in the company and all of the workers they have brought in have been very courteous and kind. They have had to work around the weather. So we have had to learn to be patient also. The work is not completed yet, but we will definitely use this company in the future for our next projects.
