    4️⃣ Try different lighting. Early mornings, golden hours, sunsets, and overcast days can create unique pictures. 5️⃣ Try finding different textures, patterns, and shapes to create interesting pictures. (+)

    1️⃣ Fill the frame. Get close (if it’s safe) or zoom in to really focus on what you want your subject to be. 2️⃣ Try black and white, either by using film or using editing software. 3️⃣ Try different angles. What if you take the picture from below or above. (+)

    Remember to never look directly at the sun without eclipse glasses. You can view the eclipse indirectly by looking at a shadow casted through an item that has small hole(s)! Staff Scientist Olathe's favourite thing to use is a straining colander. (+)

    We are all set to live stream the partial annular solar eclipse this Thursday, June 10! In Greater Sudbury, the sun will rise at 5:31 am at nearly maximum eclipse, which will occur at 5:45 am. To view the eclipse in person, find a high spot with a good view of 56° NE. (+)
