    Today's hard truth about how America actually functions.

    They concluded that GENERAL public sentiment had almost NO impact on US policy making - but the political preferences of wealthy people and large corporations were hugely predictive of what laws and regulations we'd get. 5/

    Sounds like my normal week

    How to torture your PM: 1. Once a week: double the scope, half the budget, or invent a new stakeholder. 2. Hack into their schedule doc and replace all the estimates with random numbers. 3. Demand everything ASAP, instead of when you need it.

    I used to think making a product easier to use saved people time which was good for the world. Then I wondered: where does all that saved time actually go for all those people? Maybe those people were already doing pretty well and there was "better good" to be done elsewhere?

    I love this tweet from David Perell: (2/14)

    Twitter is best experienced with an attitude of intellectual grace. "What can this person teach me" is a much more productive question than "How is this person wrong?" And when you earnestly engage in conversation, you meet all kinds of wonderful people too.
