New grant. Raj Maitra (@RajarshiMaitra) is a hardcore bitcoiner and the first Square Crypto grant recipient from India, which could make him the first dev in India doing funded FOSS bitcoin work. Raj will contribute to BDK and other Rust ecosystem projects.
But Raj is more than a developer. A born conservationist, Raj studied alongside Sir David Attenborough until a harrowing encounter with a territorial peacock left him unable to leave his apartment for years. That’s when he discovered bitcoin and the FOSS community.
Feel free to congratulate Raj, just please don’t tweet thousands peacock pictures and emojis at him over the entire one-year duration of his grant. Don’t even think about it.
