IODC 2020 Postponed

Together with the Government of Kenya, the Organizing Committee of the 2020 International Open Data Conference regretfully announces the postponement of the conference.

Our primary concern is the health and safety of participants and presenters, and in consideration of the current and future impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, we believe postponing this year’s event is the only responsible decision that can be taken at this time.

Although we are not able to proceed with the event this November, rest assured that our preparations for 2020 will not have been in vain. All of our progress to date will be applied to planning for a rescheduled IODC once a new date is identified. Support from the open data and data for development communities for the first IODC to be held in Africa has been outstanding, and we expect to build on this enthusiasm as we work together to identify potential dates for an event in 2021. Stay tuned for more updates to come.
