Intermountain West ContractorsI give Intermountain West Contractors (IWC) the highest possible recommendation for four reasons. A) the quality of the work is exemplary. I received pictures of the roof of before, during and after the roofing, including spots in need of specific repair. B) IWC’s follow-up and communication was commendable. I was given a schedule of what would happen and when; it was followed completely. I also had a few minor issues particular to our roof. ICW coordinated and scheduled the work with other contractors for the items they couldn’t take care of. C) The clean-up was remarkable! RoofTek, LLCOn September Labor Day 2020, Salt Lake area experienced one of their cold snap windstorms that easily takes out trees and damages roofs. Our aging roof lost enough shingles for an insurance claim and we called around for a contractor. Many were already swamped with calls after the storm and couldn't come out until a couple months into winter. RoofTek was the only one that offered to come out for a quote sooner than others and didn't seem annoyed about it. We were able to to add on extra jobs like replacing the fascia board, wrap and replace the gutters that were just as old as the roof. Due to the Covid restrictions and supply chain interruptions, the installation crew wasn't able to get to our roof until the middle of January, but it was mild enough weather to do it. They didn't mind taking off the unused swamp cooler and a really old roof vent that did nothing. They added in more attic/roof vents to my 1954 house to improve the attic circulation. They also replaced a lot of roof decking that was very water damaged from the previous owners that installed the drip edge and water barrier incorrectly. It was a soggy mess of splinters. The roofing crew tore off and replaced my entire roof in one day. It was amazing how quickly and efficiently they did it. The team to replace the fascia board, wrap and gutters were able to come out about 3 weeks later, and also finished that work in the day. I was able to call the company any time and ask about the progress on my contract, and they were always pleasant to talk to and give me satisfactory answers on the timeline. The pricing is reasonable compared to the quality work they offer. It was about what I expected compared to the cost of my parent's roof the previous time a windstorm made a mess. I'd gladly refer me neighbors to this company.- Christina L.

Patriot Roofing replaced our roof in July of 2020. With the first rain storm that occurred in our area, a waterfall came gushing into our house through an obvious roofing installation error. We contacted them immediately and their response, prior to even viewing the situation or listening to us on the phone, was to instantly blame and assume we have leaking windows(we do not, and this leak was no where near a window). They also stated that they would not be able to come out to our property for a few days. We then instantly sent a photo to them of the roof in the area where it was leaking and they sent out a repair crew immediately. This crew performed some pretty shoddy repairs, but they did stop the leak. The owner, Eric Pauly, then came out to our home about a week later, and tried to convince us that this insane amount of water running through our house was caused by a crack in our stucco and wind blown water coming in sideways. There actually is no crack in our stucco, and this particular storm was without wind. We have hired 3 separate roofing companies to come out and give their analysis of the situation and they all say the same thing. Poor roofing installation, to put it politely. We also noticed that they failed to fix a prior issue with our roof that we had noticed when we contacted them in the first place. They were supposed to also have repaired the damaged drywall in this area, and did not. We contacted the owner back in August regarding this and he assured us that the cause of the leak was fixed, so I let the dry wall issue go. Now we have 2 holes in our ceiling from this incompetence. We have contacted Patriot Roofing numerous times to perform the necessary repairs and they have refused every time. Still insisting on trying to prove water is leaking through a crack that doesn’t even exist in our home. They have gone as far as to forge email communication with us to their insurance company, in order to avoid responsibility. Nobody is perfect, things happen. Some companies (I assume this one does) use sub contractors to perform work, and nobody from Patriot Roofing actually came and did a final inspection to ensure their sub’s/workers performed the job correctly and to their quality standards. We gave them every possibility to correct the issue and perform the necessary repairs as stated in our original contract and confirmed by 4 other independent, unbiased, roofing professionals. Patriot Roofing has still refused to accept any responsibility. This is the real issue. If you can’t trust the company to fix something if it goes wrong, then what good is their warranty in the first place? This company does NOT stand by their work.
