The Financial Products team occupies the frontlines of Bloomberg’s global business: creating meaningful relationships with our customers by understanding their needs and helping develop products and services that exceed them. Through the Bloomberg Terminal and our fully integrated suite of enterprise solutions we provide our customers with the tools they need to navigate global business and financial markets — and the understanding they need to make smarter, faster decisions.

Financial Products is the biggest department in our company, a 5,000-strong group that comprises a dizzyingly wide variety of roles across teams in Product, Sales and Analytics. But we’re united by one goal: delivering market leading solutions that ensure our customers’ success.

Product

Who we are

We’re responsible for brainstorming, building and implementing the tools our clients use to navigate the markets. We partner with the Engineering team to determine what they should develop, with Sales to determine what they should sell, and with Analytics to determine which datasets and capabilities they should illuminate for our clients. We ensure the most influential people in business, finance and government have the information they need — and the tools to take action.

What you’ll work on

Within Financial Products you have the opportunity to work across Bloomberg’s entire range of products and solutions, from the Terminal to our execution and order management systems, data and content offerings, financial data management services, integration and distribution technologies and Bloomberg Tradebook. Your role is shaping and improving those products so our customers have the tools they need to succeed – the moment they need them.

Who we look for

You’ll have a deep understanding of the markets and can work well with many different teams. And since you’ll have to secure funding inside the company, you know how to develop tailored product roadmaps and sell people on them.

Analytics

What we do

We’re a calm voice in a busy, volatile market. We provide unparalleled 24/7 service for Terminal users all over the world, across multiple industries. But we’re not your everyday customer support line. On any given day we respond to over 12,000 queries in more than 15 languages, delivering answers that translate into real value. From educating a portfolio manager on Bloomberg’s risk management solutions to helping a trader discover new sources of market liquidity – the variety of questions we answer – and problems we solve – is immense.

What you’ll work on

A career in Analytics starts with a dynamic, nine-week intensive training program, learning about all financial assets and the Terminal. After that, you’ll spend two more weeks getting familiar with one or more of these sectors: fixed income, equities, foreign exchange (FX) and commodities. Alongside learning, you’ll deal with the many inquiries our clients send to our help desk.

Who we look for

Ambitious people who want to build a foundation for success. Once you’re a Terminal expert, you could focus on a specific area within the financial markets (like fixed income or equities) and become an advanced specialist. From Analytics, employees can move into specialist or leadership positions within the department, or expand their career moving into another part of Financial Products, such as Sales.

Bloomberg offers a range of internships, apprenticeships and exploratory programs for students at every stage of their studies, as well as entry-level roles that provide training for new or recent graduates looking to begin their career at Bloomberg.

What we do

Sales is the face of Bloomberg for our customers. The world’s leading businesses and finance professionals rely on our products and services daily, and we create and cultivate relationships with them. We work directly with our clients to help them take full advantage of the Terminal and our other solutions, and work with the Product team to keep improving and expanding our offerings.

What you’ll work on

Each of us fully owns the portfolio we work on, from sales strategy and prospecting to consultation and closing. You’ll receive extensive training so you can deliver the expertise we’re renowned for across the industry. And not just when you join us but continually, throughout your career. Just like we invest in our products, we invest in our people. It gives us the edge.
