@clorith approached the team to take a look at the following trac ticket #52654

The first thing that was checked was if this library is in PHPPHP PHP (PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor) is a general-purpose scripting language especially suited to web development. PHP code is usually processed on a web server by a PHP interpreter. On a web server, the result of the interpreted and executed PHP code would form the whole or part of an HTTP response. 8.0 since in the documentation it does not appear as such, although @javiercasares analyzed at that time and it seems that it is available. On the other hand @mikeschroder found the source code in Github of the intl extension.

After several analyses, taking into account that half of the WordPress are used in a language that is not the native (English) and that many, therefore, the internationalization is something potential of WordPress, the Hosting team considers that the installation of the PHP-intl extension (Internationalization) should be recommended in the PHP Handbook.

After last week’s meeting, we have the WPHosting Meetup group opened and pending review by the Community team.

The next steps would be:

  1. Find a speaker and topic.
  2. Find a date
  3. See on which Youtube channel we are going to broadcast (if we finally do it through the official one and how).

On the other hand, we should consider opening a site to receive proposals for talks, either in English or in other languages.

Should we create a working group, outside the weekly meetings, but open on the channel, to discuss this matter? Who is interested in getting involved in all this? Please, leave a comment with your proposals.

We continue with the analysis of the best solution for the WordPress Hosting Live project, the meetupMeetup All local/regional gatherings that are officially a part of the WordPress world but are not WordCamps are organized through https://www.meetup.com/. A meetup is typically a chance for local WordPress users to get together and share new ideas and seek help from one another. Searching for ‘WordPress’ on meetup.com will help you find options in your area. for professionals in the world of hosting and WordPress.

The operation defined for the events will be as follows:

  1. We will manage everything from https://www.meetup.com/wphosting/
  2. We will publish event notes (and even the broadcast embed, if possible) in the make/hosting.
  3. We will cross-meetup with Learn WordPress.

The next steps are to define an agenda of at least 2-3 events, the frequency, how we are going to choose the speakers… and start!
