We were not able to get the job completed on the first day that Budget Right came out due to not being able to secure the actual physical materials in a timely enough fashion needed to complete the job same day. So we rescheduled, and the job was able to be completed in a single day. Other vendors would not consider the short length of 20 feet. Although it took some time, Dean from Fenceworks came out to look at the damage and recommend repair or replacement. The fence is old but in reasonable condition, provides privacy that both I & my neighbors like. Because of zoning changes, a maximum of 6 foot heights are permitted for new fences. A major supporting post was severely damaged; he recommended replacing that and strengthening its connections to retain the fence height. The two workers arrived punctually, and did a very careful professional job. The price was high for a small job, but far less than replacing the whole fence.

Horrific customer service. Extremely arrogant and condescending. If you do not live in the city of Hillside expect to be treated and talk to as someone who doesn't matter. In my first conversation I was told they would not consider my business, they only had time for repeat customers. I thnk her for her time and hung up. She used caller ID to call me back and stated how dare I hang up on her. Then she hung up on me.

We selected this company because of the good reviews on Angie's List. Usually we have pretty good luck with companies here but I strongly advise you NOT to use this company. In fact, we have used 30+ companies from Angie's List over the last 10 years, and this is the first time we have ever written a negative review. As it stands right now, there are so many issues with the fence they constructed that I believe we need a whole new fence. First off, they did not give any sort of advance notice that they were coming to complete the fence. I was literally called the day of and told they would be there in 20 minutes. That should have been the first warning. After only three weeks completed, the north side gate is not working - probably because of the already wobbly post. There are numerous parts of the fence where nails are sticking out through the boards, split boards, uneven boards from one to the next. I even cut my hand on one of the nails which was sticking out next to the handle. There are even pieces that seem to have chunks missing from them. We called MANY times to complain, and after 2 weeks, they finally sent out a 2-person crew who stayed for 20 minutes, fixed one small problem and then said they would be back the following workday with more supplies. Guess what happened - they never showed. The company claims to have a 2 year warranty on workmanship but they literally will not call us back. I am baffled as to how they recieved the Super Service Award for 2020! Do not use this company!

If you are looking for a fence company that is unknowledgeable, lazy, inefficient, horrible with communication, deceptive and will knowingly charge you for services that you do not need, then Advanced Fence Company should be your choice. In order for me to pay them to install a fence 15” inside of where they said they were going to; I needed to take my own measurements to get a fake estimate online, wait almost 3 months for a salesman to come out to give me an “official” estimate (that was of course more expensive), wait another 2 months in order for me to gather all the permits and paperwork that they require in advance (along with the down payment), wait another 2 months for their installation team to actually show up to overcharge me for the removal of a fence that according to them (after the fact) wasn’t mine and install a new fence 15” inside of where their salesman and installers told me it was going to go. When I tried to resolve this issue, I was told that they installed the fence where it was legally supposed to go. So either, they knew all along and charged me to remove a fence that didn’t need to be removed, or they didn’t care enough to explain to me my options so I could inform my neighbors properly and make an educated decision. So, the result of the unprofessionalism of their company and their employees is that I paid almost $300 to remove a fence that didn’t need to be removed, I lost over 90 sq ft off of my property and there are huge gaps between our new fence and our neighbors existing fence. The best part of my entire experience with all of these people is that almost a year later it is finally over!!! Thank you for nothing Todd Kopke and Advanced Fence & Gate.
