Wharff Excavating arrived on time. They had the entire job done and cleaned up in 6 hours. I am very pleased with their work. They hand dug the new pipe ditch doing very litte damage to my yard. They refilled the ditch, tamped down the soil, placed grass seed and straw. They put in two new under ground down spouts, with pop-up's and clean out accesses. They removed the mulch beds and made them larger, adding metal borders and filled in with 5 yards of river rock. Looks great. This area never grew grass well and mowing was a nightmare because of the trees.. The new hardscape took care of both problems. They were courteous, cleaned up the job site, and I definitely recommend them.

There was an erosion and they come out and put several big rocks. They also put underlay mat. Wheelbarrow all that rock they had several man out there. They done all this by hand, all super nice they inform and you call you. We had a service here last year, this guy come out , he knew what to do we did not have to worry. I was so hyper and my husband said to calm down.

It all went fine at the beginning, but it’s not going fine now. He had to excavate on my property. We had him come out and give us his opinion of what needed to be done. He removed a third of the wall and had to replace the drywall. He used a strip of wood on the bottom to make it look better, but now I have noticed that he had to check where there was moisture coming in on the bottom and I have noticed black mold coming in near the bottom where he put the strips of wood in. He said that he would come out on Saturday to look at everything, and he never came. I have tried to call him back multiple times, but I never get a response. It is disappointing, they did a good job at the beginning, but it all ended very badly.

They did an AMAZING job. My neighbors all went with a different company, but I took a chance with Augusta. Months later my yard has no scarring and they even followed up close to a year later to make sure all was in order. I recommend them to anyone.

The soil was built up too high on one section of our house, by approx. 9 inches. This put the soil above the sill plate of the house and would allow moisture to seep through the brick mortar and perhaps rot the framing behind the brick. It also made the first floor of the house look out of proportion to the second floor. John regraded so that the soil was at the proper height at the house and sloped away for drainage. It was great working with John -- a very good experience for us. He is very skilled at excavating / regrading, a super considerate person, and he prices his services fairly. Also very important to us is the fact that even though we are very hands-on homeowners, he did not once make us feel that we should 'go away'. It was great to collaborate with him. We would hire him again with no hesitation.

Called Wharf Excavating and he was great to consult and talk to me about my basement waterproofing, excavating, drain pipe installation, and concrete work. He was unfortunately swamped and it was going to be a couple of weeks before work can be done. I will definitely call him again!

Matt and his team were great. I needed to excavate an Underground oil tank, about 300 gallons in size and roughly 7 feet underground. The tank was up a steep hill, inside a courtyard fence and under a paver patio. Matt quoted quickly and was very responsive to all questions. The work was completed within a week and everything was leveled, grass planted and fence panels put back.

We had Augusta Underground out to look at an ongoing flooding/drainage issue on our property. Steve and Joel arrived 10 minutes early to the scheduled estimate, found the causes of our flooding issue and recommended regrading, along with extending our downspouts, adding a drain box and digging swales on either side of our lot to route the water down to the street. Their quote was reasonable considering the scope of the work. We also had them remove several stumps, a small dying tree, a broken concrete slab from an old 1-car garage that had been torn down long ago, and a broken concrete walkway. When they were on our property they were professional, respectful of our neighbors, and hard working. They completed the project in two long days, and we were very impressed by the work ethic. Even after they wrapped up and were showing us the finished project, Steve couldn't help but bend down to pick up a stray rock or two, like he was still in clean up mode. They meticulously removed old weed stumps from the chain link fence around the property (our next project is a privacy fence!). They put down grass seed on the swales for us, covered them over with hay, and watered without being asked. Steve said it would help get everything settled and working properly faster. We feel they went above and beyond for us and we couldn't be happier with the result. If you are reaching out to them during their busy season, be prepared for response times on emails/calls to be a little on the slower end. We found it took a couple of days to get a response from them at times, but ultimately we understood they are in high demand and very busy. And for good reason! They are worth the wait. This is the crew you want to hire.

They did an excellent job. It was a big job and they were punctual and the quality was excellent. They fixed the problem, and it was a big problem.
