Disposing of DVD Screeners

What do I do with my DVD screeners after Emmy season?

Please note: members are no longer receiving DVD screeners!

Here are four options for disposing of DVD screeners:

  1. If you have access to an LA City recycling bin (at home or work) you may recycle DVDs that way. DVDs and CDs are polycarbonate plastic, which typically falls into the "7" category of plastics. Other municipal systems that accept 1-7 plastics should accept DVDs (and CDs for that matter) for recycling, but you may want to call first to confirm.

  2. If your recycling system does not accept #7 plastic, consider CD Recycling Center of America. They offer several efficient options for recycling DVDs, CDs, and related packaging.

  3. We support Project Hollywood Cares, which delivers screeners and entertainment to our active US military personnel. Collections take place at the CBS Radford lot - not at the Television Academy headquarters. Donation procedure information can be found on their site at projecthollywoodcares.org.

  4. At this time, the Television Academy will NOT accept DVDs from previous FYC seasons for recycling.
