We believe in celebrating and recognizing our outstanding students, alumni, and faculty for their dedication to service, education, and their professional fields. Applications for these distinct awards are accepted annually in February and presented during the university's annual commencement ceremony.
Selected through a highly competitive process, each recipient has made a lasting impact on society and the university community through outstanding professional, philanthropic, or volunteer accomplishments.
The deadline for 2021 nominations is January 25, 2021, with additional documentation due February 1, 2021. For questions about the award criteria or submission requirements, contact the University Awards Committee.
Recognizes excellence in scholarly conduct, accomplishment, and contributions during a student's time at the University.
Recognizes exceptional alumni who have rendered distinctive service to their community, or to society as a whole.
Is presented to an individual who sets a high standard and provides exemplary service to the organization and its leadership team.
Recognizes exceptional graduates who have set themselves apart by making significant contributions to our nation or their community. These members demonstrate a strong interest in supporting a lifetime of military or public service.
Recognizes a member of the APUS community (student, alumni, faculty, administrator, or university partner) in recognition of outstanding leadership, for their significant impact on their community, industry, or the world around us.
Recognizes outstanding University staff members for quality and dedicated work.
Recognize outstanding faculty who demonstrate teaching excellence in the classroom, value innovation and learning, support student success, and demonstrate classroom leadership.
Recognizes an outstanding member of the APUS community for innovative and dedicated work that has inspired the APUS community.
Recognizes resilience, patience, and determination, and a student’s impact and influence on public service, social justice, and inclusion.
Recognizes a student leader who has contributed significantly to an organization, going above and beyond to engage members.
Recognize outstanding faculty selected from the year's Excellence in Teaching recipients.
Recognize outstanding faculty who provide scholarly contributions with an articulated philosophy and agenda, therefore demonstrating commitment to research and supporting teaching.
Recognize outstanding new faculty who demonstrate teaching excellence in the classroom, value innovation and learning, support student success, and demonstrate classroom leadership.
Recognizes a newly established organization that has created a positive presence at the university and has collaborated with other student organizations or university departments to ensure they have a firm foundation for their chapter.
Recognizes a graduate who has set him- or herself apart from their classmates academically and has made significant contributions to his or her nation or community. Recognizing their commitment to service, scholastic achievement, outstanding character, and leadership.
Recognizes an organization that has exemplified outstanding achievements in leadership, engagement, service, and commemoration.
Recognizes one master’s student and one bachelor’s student from each annual graduating class. The selected candidates are extended the opportunity to deliver the student honor’s address at their respective graduation ceremony.
