Master Chimney SweepersExceptional service!! I got a call in advance, explaining the Covid-19 protocol and how the visit would work. Service technician, "Bobby 102" arrived on time, wearing face covering as discussed. He was super polite! Brought in his equipment (including floor/rug covering), accurately described the scope of the job and estimated timing. He worked quietly and efficiently while here and explained what he discovered at the end of his work. We were able to ask questions and got very clear and direct answers including what maintenance might be required down the road. We gave him a check on the spot and he was off to his next customer. I took great comfort in the way Master Chimney Sweepers prepared and informed us and we were extremely pleased with the actual service performed very professionally by "Bobby 102".- Ellen R.

Quarry Hills Plumbing & HVACvery well - it was a bit of a drawn out process, since we had to have inspectors involved, but Natalie waited here while I had to go run an errand. Bill knew what he was doing and it's been working great! A couple years ago i had them come out and look at the air conditioner. They did a through inspection and couldn't find anything wrong. I was assured all was ok and didn't worry about getting told I needed false repairs. Basically, I trust them to do the work.- Laurie L.

Hoyt Masonry LLCSean and his team do exemplary work - not just the job but cleanup, final touches etc. Needed to have a bulkhead to my cellar built which involved removing hundreds of pounds of dirt and rock. The team did the removal, rebuilt the stairs, repositioned necessary bricks on the patio etc. They recently began work to repair my chimney and fireplace. After opening the fireplace, it was clear that the fireplace had deteriorated to a dangerous level. Sean provided a solution (liner) which brought the fireplace up to code. He also repointed both the center chimney and furnace chimney, cleaned away all scrapings etc and will do the upstairs fireplace in the fall. Sean and his son are very professional and assiduous about ensuring that things are done correctly whether it's masonry, fencing, or painting. A real class act. Master Chimney SweepersBobby was our technician and he was awesome. He came out early (after calling to ensure that was okay) went to work quickly and efficiently and didn't waste time, though he was friendly and took time to make friends with my dog and baby. One chimney he squared away quickly. The second one that vents the furnace had some concerns on the outside as the terra cotta outlet had a lot of cracks and the previous owner had not capped it. Upon sweeping and inspecting it, huge chunks of the liner began to rain down and one who area was stuck, blocking the flue. It was a mess and I suspect ended up being a lot more work than poor Bobby anticipated. But, he stuck with it, fixed the mess, and very gently/kindly let us know that we would definitely need a repair there for safety reasons. We weren't suprised when we saw the shape the liner was in. We got a quote for that work as well as a place in the que today. For several hours of work, 2 chimney caps, fixing a stuck flue in one chimney and all the work I just detailed on the other one, the bill was around 1100. I would also note that every time I spoke with them on the phone they were super nice, kind, and accomodating.- Rachel C.

Master Chimney SweepersThis is our second year using Master Chimney Sweepers. Master Chimney Sweepers scheduled a four hour block of time when they would arrive, called first thing in the morning to confirm, and then called about an hour before the beginning of the block to let me know they could be there half an hour earlier if I'd be around (I was). Vinny came out and inspected our two fireplaces and our oil furnace flue. He made the recommendation that we clean one of the fireplaces and the furnace. This was in line with what we expected would happen. He was very respectful of the house, putting sheets down around the fireplace while he was vacuuming, making sure not to let the dog sneak out, etc. He would stop regularly to let me know what he found, what that meant for me, and what the next steps were. He also let me know of a few problems that were starting to develop, and let me know how many years out before I'd likely need to address them. When he was done, he was quick to write up my receipt, accept a check, answer some final questions, and he was on his way. The price was slightly more than what I had expected, but that may just be because I didn't do any comparison shopping for this service, which would be my only advise to those looking for this (or anything, obviously). They seem to always be offering money off ($ off for returning customers, $ for Angies List coupons, $ for mentioning Ads, etc), so make sure to take advantage. Quite honestly, even if they're slightly more than their competitors, I'll happily pay for this level of customer service and work.- Christopher K.

Recent Review:
The people at Downeast Chimney responded very quickly to questions I had. They were very patient and easy-going in handling multiple inquiries I had as I learned more about what is involved in replacing a chimney cap. Everyone from the company was very straightforward in their answers, and they did not try to sell work that was not required. Their explanations reflected their extensive experience, but were put in terms that someone like me who is not familiar with this kind of thing, could understand easily. They followed through on everything that they said they would do.
