    6/6 The leaked draft recognises threats of public facial recognition & other biometric mass surveillance to individuals & society but doesn't go far enough to protect people's rights. Make prohibit these practices by signing the petition

    3/6 Whilst conformity requirements on providers is a good step, they are in most cases *self assessed* - so the companies developing (and profiting from) the systems get to decide compliance with the law (read: marking their own homework) ‼️

    2/6 By categorising these uses as "high risk" without major restrictions placed on 'users' (read: governments, public/EU authorities), the leaked proposal risks giving a "green light" to some of the most harmful uses cases of AI
