Hi, below is error message received when trying t9 install new version (after long absence).

You cannot update because WordPress 5.7.1 requires PHP version 5.6.20 or higher. You are running version 5.4.45.

Any ideas how to upgrade from 5.4.45 upwards until I can get to 5.6.20 and then the current version?

Hi, it sounds like you’ll need to log in to your hosting account and change the PHP version. You’ll want to check with your hosting provider for the exact steps.

Once you’re running the updated version of PHP, you’ll be able to update WordPress

Hi, Emily and Steven. Thanks for the responses. Key information from Emily was to search Host provider for a way to update to newer version. Done in 5 minutes.
