Yesterday my mother and I drove out to Barstow to visit with my aunt and uncle who were passing through on their way back to Northern California. I can't say I have any love for the Mojave Desert. Last summer my mom and I passed through on the 58 and it was the most bleak, barren stretch of highway I've ever seen. I brought my camera along this time, but there just isn't much of interest to photograph, especially from a car on the highway. McConnell wins Individual title at ASC Championship, UMHB women's golf finishes second overall

The freshman became the 12th ASC individual champion in UMHB women's golf history, as she edged UT Dallas' Lindy Patterson by just one stroke to finish the two-day tournament at the front of the pack.
