Initial impressions:
- Use your whole hand to turn instead of the knob - They need to get their factory to stop winding the cable wrong. It's not wound flat: 2 of 2 units had the cable twisted instead of being wound flat. - The mouth is too large, making it easy to twist the cable while you wind it up. - They have few competitors at this price point. LanReels is basically the only competitor I could find, but at half the length.
I bought this because I need a long cable that would go from my modem to my computer in my home office, I didn't want to have a struggle raveling and unraveling a regular 50 ft cable 2 times a week for my live FB streams, that would have gotten frustrating fast. I also didn't want to stream through wireless which has been given my very spotty, unstable and unreliable streams. This cable fixes all my problems, it's really to unravel (some review have stated that they wheels doesn't roll easy but I don't find that to be so if you hold it from the both and crank and not the handle). The unraveling is done in seconds. The unit is small and fits on my desk without taking up much room at all. My streams so far have been excellent quality. without any lag time between the video and the audio like it was thru wireless. So far I'm extremely happy with this until.

As a technician, I'm always looking for a cable that is slightly longer than I have to program something on a shelf in a closet, or across the room from a desk, or even outside my vehicle while taking shelter from the elements. I've had the 32' model for a month now and then ordered the 50' for good measure. Now I have 82' of cat6 at the ready, without a huge knot of cable in my work van. I have had none of the kinking issues the other reviewers mentioned on the 32' or 50' model, seems the manufacturer took care of that.
I've been waiting a long time for a long, retractable Ethernet cable like this one. Until now, the only other option seemed to be
Stage Ninja CAT5-40-S 40-Feet Retractable CAT5e Cable Reel
, which costs over 8 times more, is only 40', and Cat5e (instead of Cat6 like this one). The Stage Ninja definitely looks more heavy duty, but for one-off use, the EXTNGO UTP Extender should be fine. I was amazed at how small this unit is - search YouTube for "EXTNGO" to see just how small (sadly, Amazon prohibits external links in reviews).
UPDATE: Just received the unit and it is harder to turn the crank than expected - the action should be much smoother. Hopefully this is addressed in future revisions.

I love this. It keeps my cord at the perfect length through my always changing work/gaming environments and works great. You won't be disappointed.
For improvements, I'd love for the price to be a littttttle bit more affordable and to have 75 and 100 ft options as well. Also, I think there's room for improvement on the final connection point between the reel and the computer. I'm not sure what to do differently than the convenient and compact retractable patch cable it comes with, but it seems there must be a better way.
Love the convenience of this 50’ reel of cat5. In the age of Zoom meetings and virtual sessions I like to “hard wire” my Ethernet connection for faster and more reliable connections. This has been great uses it several time a week. Has RJ45 connector (standard Ethernet) and a female socket in the center of spool. Bonus. They send a free retractable 6’ patch cable to use between the reel and your device. Really convenient and simple.
Pros: Passes connectivity test and the little retractable patch cable is decent.
Cons: Reel is very hard to wind and unwind. Handle on the spool is cheaply made and not strong enough to wind the spool. Handle on the main assembly is so small you can't get your hand in it. Rough edges on inside of cable chute scrape on the cable.
Overall the product will work but it's not a joy to use or even that convenient. The spool diameter is too small, it makes it much harder to wind the cable up on the spool, especially with a handle that's not much larger in diameter than a sharpie and only an inch long. The cable chute is also narrower than the spool, and while that wouldn't be an issue if winding round cable, makes a huge problem since the flat cable twists just enough to cause even more friction making winding and unwinding even harder.
The cable does work, but winding it in is a challenge sometimes. I thought it would wind much better, but it took us 15 minutes of pulling it in and out in and out to finally be able reel all the cable back in. For an occasional use it works, but if you are doing it all the time you're going to get frustrated reeling it in.
