I have a number of issues with my website that have only recently started to occur. Some may be historical issues but some since I started working with an Affiliate so since I added lots of links and created some new pages which my website clearly does not like.

I have removed a lot of the affiliate links now (hopefully all) and removed some newly created pages to bin and deleted but now the issues have started to slow my site considerably.

These are my problems and I am now really struggling to understand how I go about addressing these issues in elementor?

Page Size
The page load is 5MB and this ideally needs to be reduced in size. I am told there is a very large DOM. I have been sent a link on this but I am not a technical expert so need simple guidance please as I dont know where to start on this.

WP-Cron
This was added to my account some months ago in order to fix some other problems and now I understand it is a problem itself. How do I remove in elementor or assess its impact on my site?

Theme
I am also advised to change my theme from Astra. I am not keen on this. If I fix the above should I need to as surely this is a major site overhaul ???

Site Heath Check
I simple health check in RankMath throws up the following:

Your site is running an older version of PHP (7.3.27)
One or more recommended modules are missing
301 .htaccess redirect is not enabled.
Not all recommended security headers are installed
WP Mail SMTP mailer setup is incomplete
Your site could not complete a loopback request`

Any help and guidance appreciated
