Foster Forward Initiative
The Foundation’s Foster Forward initiative provides three paid internships for transition age and former foster youth interested in exploring careers in entertainment. Funded in part by an endowment created by Dick Wolf’s Wolf Family Foundation, these experiential learning opportunities give undergraduate and graduate college students in Southern California extraordinary access to entertainment media professionals.
Interns will also receive weekly online evening professional development including panels with television industry leaders, customized seminars on building your brand and navigating the job market ahead and access to Foundation alumni as you build your career.
Upon completion, interns will join the Television Academy Foundation's Alumni Program and be eligible to participate in program and career support provided by the Foundation.
Due to the uncertainty surrounding the ongoing pandemic, and with the utmost concern for health and safety, the Television Academy Foundation will be offering remote internships only for summer 2021.
The submission period for summer remote internships is November 12, 2020 - January 19, 2021 at 5:00pm PT.
Remote internships will take place June 21 – August 13, 2021.

Host: Network or studio.
Activities: Support ongoing pro-social/philanthropic campaigns, assist with production of digital and social media content like PSAs, vignettes, and photo campaigns, support PR and press events, support volunteer events for employees and talent (actors and actresses), prepare presentations, general administrative work.
Desirable background: Strong interest and/or experience with philanthropic endeavors and initiatives in media and entertainment; passion and experience either as a volunteer or supporter of charitable causes; excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Open to all class levels.
Category: Development
Host: Studio or production company
Activities: Overview of development and production of scripted series, movies for television or unscripted television. For series/movies for television - observe and participate (where applicable) in the evaluation of ideas and literary material, selection of writers and oversight of script development. For unscripted television – work with production company and/or network programming staff in conception and execution of programs.
Desirable background: Creative writing, literature, theater arts. Liberal arts/communications.
Open to all class levels.
