I have read New York Magazine on and off for years and while I still love the content I am a little upset that they don't include the entire agenda anymore in the magazine! That was invaluable for a quick way to see the goings on in the city, where to eat and what exhibits were at the museums and every single concert and play. I am not always connected to the internet (crazy I know) so not having the agenda kind of stinks when I am on the go and feeling like dropping into the city with no clue of what I would like to do.

Love this magazine, but Kindle version lacking

I'm a huge fan of the magazine, of course, so when I subscribed through Amazon to be able to read it on my Kindle, I was dismayed to learn (too late) that it only works on Kindle Fire and iPhone/iPad Kindle Apps. And I have a slightly less flashy model. I do read it from time to time on my iPad, but it's basically one large PDF file: no links directly to articles, no special digital features, you interface for the crossword puzzle, pretty wah wah.

The magazine also lets me know about museums, events, new restaurants and stores in New York. This magazine also tells me sometimes about trending stores and excellent sales. I love the crossword and the last page scale of current events is excellent

New York Magazine Is Not What It Was

I first started buying New York Magazine for the Culture Pages, particularly the Broadway Show critiques and the long list of what was on off and on Broadway. I enjoy the critiques of movies, books and plays, but sadly there are hardly ever critiques of Broadway shows anymore, the emphasis seems to be more on movies, books and TV. The full list of shows on Broadway, which I found very useful, has been discontinued altogether. Since I began subscribing to the magazine the tone has changed. The To Do list is interesting and I often follow the suggestions in it, Unfortunately the articles outside of the Culture Pages have become so unpleasant and ugly that I have been avoiding reading them. I continue subscribing to the New York Magazine because I'm addicted to the crossword puzzle which I look forward to tackling every month, but I wish New York Magazine would go back to being the fun, informative magazine that I used to enjoy picking up at the newspaper stand.

I can't live without NY Magazine. My family and friends call it my "bible". I live in NYC and mostly want to know goings-on within NYC & NY State. Occasionally the primary theme of an issue is shopping or sports, neither of which I have any interest in, but there are always things to read about theater, music, real estate, movie and book reviews. I've given subscriptions as gifts to family and friends in NJ & FL and they've enjoyed it too. Amazon was fast in filling my order too!
