Found the problem with a simple solution. We expected to pay the amount that was quoted in writing, even though it was a wide range. What we didn't expect was a charge added on for travel, which was $65. We were never told about this beforehand. That took the bill beyond the quote and honestly, we would have found someone else near us if they had been upfront. We contacted them twice about this but of course, have not heard back. We won't use this service again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone else. Businesses need to inform customers about every cost associated with the job, especially when there is a written estimate, and not add something on at the end. As the saying goes, honesty is always the best policy.

Mr B's Lawn ServiceThey're a small family owned company business and they are very good. They come every Tuesday morning. The price is $100 a month. I will continue to use them unless something happens. In fall and spring if there are a lot of leaves it could possibly take longer but usually it takes a half an hour or under. There are usually two of them and they are just lovely. They are very nice people. They're a small company. They installed my original backyard. It was just rocks and stones. It was a mess. They designed a small garden in the back for me. They don't do real big jobs. They would mow a big lawn, but they would not do big landscaping or basketball courts or big amounts of cement. A Ronnow Lawn Sprinkler, IncThe job proceeded as expected, no problems whatsoever. I have used this very same company and quot;manyand quot; times over the past 10 years or so. They are my and quot;go to businessand quot; for sprinkler system repairs and usually come the same day that I call. Their service tech and this time an additional person (usually come alone) came out to my home on 05/26/2011 to take care of this problem for me. Total elapsed time on the job was 30 minutes or less, since I had already managed to precisely locate the source of the leak before they came. and quot;Ronnowand quot; is a family business that has been here in Las Vegas, NV since the 1960's which is an eternity for this still very young city. He gave me free advise that applies to all of us - buy only the amount of gas you can use right away or add a fuel conditioner such as Sta-Bil to prevent the gas from going bad and clogging the mowers fuel system.- Fred S.

GREEN THUMB LAWN MOWERRandy answered the phone and told me he was available so I took my chain saw to him for repair. He said he would look at it and if the cost to repair was more than a new one he would let me know. He was friendly and personable. I called him the following week and he was working on it that day. I didn't really need it right away, so that was fine. He called me the next week to inform me that it was done, what he did, and that the cost was 45.00- very reasonable.I will definately use his service again.- Brenda R.

GREEN THUMB LAWN MOWEROutstanding service at one third less than other shops I checked. Randy did a complete overhaul of both machines. He changed all fluids, plugs and cleaned all carburetors. He also checked and cleaned all moving parts. His work is exceptional and he went out of his way to work around my travel schedule. I really liked the fact that he did not try to sell me parts or service I didn't need. I highly recommend Randy's shop.- Rod K.

LAWN MOWER SHOPIt seemed no one could fix this mower - one wanted to replace the motor (nothing wrong with motor), one had it in its estimate area for a week and a half, and one didn't stock Toro parts. Called Lawn Mower Shop, he listened and told us to bring it in. It was fixed by the next day. Impressive and the parts total was $2.04!- Marlene W.

UNIVERSAL TURF EQUIPMENTMy father inlaw who was in the lawn mower repair business, bought us a new mower over 20 years ago. It has been in storage for the last 12 years, still contained the old oil and gas and was leaking gas. My husband tried to fix it himself but it was a mess! A new mower of the same quality was going to be very expensive. We read the reviews about Universal Turf on Angies List and even thought they were not close, decided to get an estimate for repairs. Repairing the mower was going to cost about half as much as a new one plus we were keeping one more thing out of the landfill. The mower was repaired and ready for pickup as promised. We have been using it for 2 months now and it runs great! They did a good job and we will definitely use Universal Turf Equipment again.- Deborah L.
