Louisville Retractable Awining Installation

The awning itself is fine- the proposal, delivery time and cost was no issue. The issue was the installer and the installation. The installer brought his girlfriend and her dog. The awning is installed crooked and the installer left the stairs under the awning covered in the debris that came down with the old awning. The awning is installed over siding that is about to be replaced and so the awning will ultimately come down and be put back up by the siding installers- this is the reason I am not bothering with having Allied straighten out their crooked job. Its just more holes in my house at this point.

This was the second awning that Fitzsimmons has made for us. We did not hesitate to call them for this most recent awning. The two awnings are very close together and no one would know which awning was installed first. The fabric durability is exceptional. John is very professional. He remembered our first install and how long it had been. Call them...you will not be disappointed!

We called Fitzsimmons because they were so highly rated on Angie's List. We were initially considering a retractable awning, but told John when he came out that we were open to all suggestions. He suggested a stationary awning for our situation. He showed us fabrics and made suggestions based on what we had in mind. In the end, we went with the stationary awning with black fabric. John told us it could be up six weeks before installation. We had, after all, waited until his busiest time of the year to call him. We called in the 5th week to get an update and he said it would be Thursday of the following week. And Thursday it was! His crew was very professional and had the awning in place in less than 2 hours. We love it! It looks very nice and although we were concerned about black being hot, it really isn't. If it radiates heat, we can't tell it. This past weekend, we had an all-day rain. We were able to sit on our deck, drink wine, and watch the rain in comfort for 2 hours. Our deck was virtually unusable most of the time because the sun beat down on it for most of the day. The awning has made it a great space to spend time. The fabric has a 10 year prorated warranty. John told us the cost of replacement would be about 1/2 of the original job, but to keep in mind that is many years down the road. They did a very nice job and I would recommend them. This Angie's List stuff works!

My experience with them was great. They were very easy to work with. They had helped us on fixing our spot for awning.

This was a custom design for the material cut In four 3 foot sections. This is not a motorized awning. Installation was completed in one day. There are covers for the four sections of the awning. The outside structure was consisted of four by fours. Perhaps the vertical support supports should have been six by sixes. After four years the material has held up very well. The four covers for the awning are little bit stained due to birds roosting on the covers.

Mr. Fitzsimmons gave us an estimate and while it wasn't the lowest we received, we liked what he said, the product, their reviews, and the fact that his company is local. We were very pleased with the installation. When installed, the motor didn't work (which they said rarely happens). They ordered a new motor and installed it within a week and on a Saturday. We didn't rate price because it's a lot of money and it's hard to say it was excellent. It did seem like a fair price for the product and installation and I imagine the enjoyment we get from the awning will make it worth the price! We have already enjoyed it immensely.

The company owner, Faye Davis, arrived at my home within 3 days of a phone call I made requesting an estimate. She explained her company's history and her 15+ years experience in the awning business and also went through the process of how the awnings would be manufactured. Ms. Davis brought along an extensive portfolio of her work giving me the opportunity to review various awning designs and colors. Based upon the portfolio and Ms. Davis' thorough review, I decided to change my current pipe frames to a more stable welded frame. I also changed the awning design to a concave shape while keeping the current black color with white piping/trim. The awnings were manufactured and installed within about 2.5 weeks of my meeting with Ms. Davis.

We had got a couple of estimates and his estimate was consistent with the other estimates that we had received. His product was the same as the other company. We chose him because he was able to do it quickly. It was the same company that had done the existing awning that was in place for at least 10 years. I wasn?t here when they did it. My husband told me that the workers were on time. They cleaned up very well and didn?t leave anything behind. The work was neat. They showed up when they said they would show up. I was satisfied with the work because it was the color that I had asked for and the detail trim work that we wanted. However, the installation doesn?t seem to be as it was before. It looks nice, but the original one seemed to be more securely installed.

Roofers came out and tore off hail damaged roof and replaced with new shingles in one day. They were quick and professional. Very efficient and polite. Cleaned up in record time too. They vacucumed the area so it was left in pristine condition. They also went out their way to not damage any plants or my garden near the house. The very next day the second crew came to replace hail damaged and very old awnings approximately 15, gutters, downspouts and aluminum sliding on house and garage. They were precise and very professional. The awnings were delivered and installed with no damage. The gutters where installled with care and precision. They wrapped the area with excellent products before replacing the aluminum sliding on a portion of the house. All lot of work was done in three days and it was all professional. It looks amazing and I would recommend this company to everyone. They were FANTASTIC.
