Since 1958, Snow Peak has made Japanese-designed, lifetime-guaranteed outdoor products. While we’ve evolved considerably over the last 60 years, our core mission has remained the same: to create restorative experiences in nature through legacy-grade gear and apparel.

Our History

Our History

In 1958, Yukio Yamai founded Snow Peak in the Niigata Prefecture of Japan. He created his own line of mountaineering gear, working closely with the skilled metalworkers in the region. The Yamai family legacy continues to this day under the leadership of Tohru Yamai and his daughter Lisa Yamai. Snow Peak creates top-of-the line outdoor gear and apparel, all designed at its headquarters in Sanjo City, Niigata, Japan.
