S.R. InsulationMy 1950, 860 ft house had 20+ yr old dusty, pink insulation, that was even worse after the city revamped utility vaults & pushed rats into the neighborhood. I chose S.R Insulation to vacuum out, caulk open voids, and re-blow insulation. The owner set up an appointment quickly. On the day of service, he did call 15 minutes late to advise of an issue. The 3 person team arrived within an hour, set up the vacuum and bags, then removed insulation; original, wood-shingle slips; and ducting left by A/C techs. They worked between 3 to 4 hours and said they would return next business day. The two part installation, gave me an idea - I asked for an extension, so I could repair ceiling sheet rock while the attic was void. The owner agreed. He did not require partial payment. Three weeks later, I rescheduled. The install was even quicker, filling up to the stud height in white, blown insulation. He leaves behind a cardboard measuring stick to show you. The difference inside the house was immediate. I will not provide calculations, as I added front load washer/dryer to the electric usage at this same time. Later, I found my stove top vent fan blocked. I was able to pull out material from the duct, and the fan worked. Therefore I did not call the owner about this. I paid less than $1500, and thought it fair. I would use S.R. Insulation again and recommend them.- c a c.

They were very responsive and communicated well prior to the work being done. They removed the builder grade bathroom mirrors and replaced them with framed mirrors. They did a great job with this. They also replaced the builder grade shower heads in all 3 bathrooms and did well there. The only issue was how they installed the drawer pulls on the drawers in the kitchen and bathrooms. They were not consistent with where they placed each drawer pull. It was uneven and sometimes in an awkward place. And some of them are loose and spin around each time you touch them. I didn't notice it until they had already left and were paid. I was quoted between $600-700 for the work and that seemed fair. However, by the time they were done, he said between $750-$800. To be fair, I did ask if he could put up a light in place of a chandelier. My wife and I had already taken down the chandelier, so we didn't think it would be expensive for them to just place the small light flush to the ceiling. I believe this is where the additional costs came in. It took him maybe 5 minutes to do the light, so I'm not sure why it would have cost that much. At this point, 3 things were great (mirrors, shower heads, light) and 1 project (drawer pulls) was not great. I would hire again, but I would maybe supervise some of the work more. I was working from home and didn't get a chance to see the work as they were completing it.

He did great work and was efficient getting everything we needed done which included hanging a fixture, doing some more complex electrical work and also repairing several faucets in our house as well as several other knock out items. Bottomline: If you are considering hiring Jay, just do it. He is a great guy and does great work!

I normally NEVER leave poor reviews but BE WARNED this company SCAMS you. Do not pay this company hourly unless you like seeing your money flushed down the drain. I have never had such a bad experience in my life. The originally tech sent for my project worked as slow as he possibly could taking phone calls on the job and talking down to me. After 5 hours, there was barely any progress made. I was then promised the job would be completed in 4-5 more hours the following day with a new tech (at a discounted rate) for the inconvenience. I payed for the 5 hour day because it was the only way to get them to come back and finish the project. But did they finish the project? No! They took my money and NEVER completed the job. Chris (the main office guy I assume) then sent a new tech out after I complained. I spent the whole day waiting only to have the new person say the job was going to take another 7-8 hours to complete. Chris then said that they "guarantee nothing when it comes to the time of a project" even though, he had already quoted me the day prior. Basically, in a nutshell, they will charge you a dollar a minute and your project will take double the time IF they even complete it. My project is now having to be completely re-done by a new company. Please save yourself the aggravation and hire someone else to do your project!
