I bought this to turn my Sony a7iii into a webcam for streaming on Twitch. Turns out it's good just to have, period, in a studio environment. The dummy battery is plastic and feels like it will break but if it does, I'll replace it as I need it regardless. Had the camera on for 6 hours my 1st use and it was warm but nothing concerning.

Also noticed my Sony A7iii doesn't get as hot then when I use regular batteries. So that was a big plus. I have had no issues at all. My Sony starts up everytime with no issues. Outdoors with an extension cord under shade it got warm but still lasted longer than the battery would have. The batteries for the sony alpha cameras hold so much heat, it's one of the reasons the cameras overheat. This is a great helper with that.
