We are happy to announce the list of workshops that will be conducted on WordCamp India’s Workshop Days. These workshops will be held on the 30th and 31st of January 2021.

All the workshops will be 40 mins in length followed by a 15 mins Q&A session.

Speaker Announcement: Marieke van de Rakt on “Outrank your competition with a great content SEO strategy”

Bio of Marieke

Marieke van de Rakt is the CEO at Yoast. Yoast is most famous for The Yoast SEO plugin for WordPress. Marieke’s main focus is on growing the company. She’s really passionate about maintaining an open and friendly company culture and she’s also heavily involved in the marketing of Yoast

About the session

WordPress out of the box is pretty SEO-friendly. Add Yoast SEO and your technical SEO is pretty much covered. If you want to do more and really outrank your competition, you’ll just need to have a great content SEO strategy.

In this talk, she will first explain the importance of SEO copywriting and of internal linking. After that, she would talk us through some practical tips with which you can start optimizing your website today.

Bio of Leonardo

Leonardo Losoviz is an open source developer and freelance technical writer, with an ongoing quest to bring innovative paradigms to WordPress. He is currently working at the intersection of GraphQL and WordPress.

About the session

Presentation of the new GraphQL API for WordPress plugin, to use the increasingly popular GraphQL API to fetch data from the WordPress site.

The plugin is open source. Repo: https://github.com/GraphQLAPI/graphql-api-for-wp.

We will first explore the current scene of APIs in WordPress:

What is an API
What are the current solutions for WordPress: WP REST API and WPGraphQL
Their characteristics

Then he will explain the characteristics of this new plugin GraphQL API for WordPress, and do a demo of it. The demo involves using the WordPress admin, there won’t be any code at all, so it will be suitable for beginners too.

Attendees will learn about the different API solutions in WordPress, and about the GraphQL API plugin in particular

Prem Tiwari is an open source enthusiast working in WordPress domain since last 7+ years & runs his own microblogging freewebmentor.com. Professionally he resides in the silicon valley of India, Bangalore.

He holds great experience when it comes to scaling WordPress projects which caters the need for big enterprise clients on WordPress VIP-GO platform.

Personally he is jovial & a proud father. Playing badminton & living a healthy life is what he admires.

About the session

In this session, Prem will share how we can leverage WordPress as a backend system and use different technologies or platforms as the front end. There are many use-cases where we need a strong backend system to support our different front end platforms like a web which built with React, Android application, web view on mobile.
