Mute Functionality Lacking

It does a lot well. But there's one glowing issue, and that's the mute functionality.

1) The mute button is very awkward. It shares functionality with volume, and it's easy to rock the volume up/down instead of the mute, which is an inward press. It's also positioned on the underside of the device which makes one have to grasp the entire earphone to mute/unmute. Without a full on grasp you'd press the headset off of your own head.
2) The mute has no visual indicator on the boom. Other great headsets I've used have this functionality. A visual mute indicator is awesome, and once you've used one, using a headset without one is tough. Instead there is an audio mute indicator in the headset that while speaking (in the same slow voice as other prompts) you can't hear the meeting on the other end.

Everything else about the headset is fantastic, but that mute just stinks. I can't call this a professional level headset without a good mute.

I've been buying and sending back candidates for my next phone headset for a while now. Couldn't seem to get the combo I was looking for until I found this. I wanted decent sound with good balance between lower and upper ranges. I'm something of an audiophile and used to work in sound studios, so clarity and fidelity are important -- and other than one other earbud set by Sony wasn't finding those. . I wanted decent noise cancellation that allowed some ambient sound so I'm not completely 'off the grid' sound wise. Needed single over the ear since by law around here you can't have both ears blocked while driving. I also got a connect to cell landline and so this headset now goes seamlessly from my cell to landline to car to house. I probably won't use it for VOIP but added the dongle just in case down the line. In a world of knock-offs, mark-downs and compromised products I'd like to say thank you to Sennheiser for paying attention and creating a well thought out, quality product. That's a rarity these days and I am truly grateful.

Got the MB PRO 1 UC ML model, and it's a good thing I did

I got this wireless Sennheiser to replace a basic USB wired headset. Staying at home for an extended time, I wanted to be able to move around my home office without getting tangled up in a cord while on conference calls with the office.

I purchased the MB PRO 1 UC ML primarily because I wanted the charging stand. The set also comes with a pre-paired bluetooth USB dongle, which I didn't think I would need as my Mac already has bluetooth built in. But it turned out to use the headset with Microsoft Teams, I needed the bluetooth USB dongle to maintain connectivity with Teams when the bluetooth headset is turned off.

When I first got the headset, I was able to pair it up to my Mac's built-in bluetooth. I could even use the headset for M/S Teams. However, as soon as I turned off the headset and then later on tried to connect it, the headset no longer showed up on M/S Teams. It was connected to the Mac's bluetooth, but not Teams. It seemed the only way to get the connection going on Teams again was to use Bluetooth Preferences to disconnect then reconnect to the headset, then go into M/S Teams and reselect the headset as in the input device. Not convenient.

I was almost going to send the headset back, but decided to try connecting to the supplied bluetooth USB dongle. it's a bit weird having built-in bluetooth and the bluetooth in the USB dongle, but it worked. I was able to pair the Sennheiser headset to the Sennheiser USB dongle plugged into the back of the Mac.

What is interesting is M/S Teams sees the Sennheiser USB dongle as an available USB input device labeled "Sennheiser BTD 800 USB for Lync". Even better is M/S Teams "remembers" this connection even when the actual Headset is turned off, such as when it is in the charging stand. So now I have wireless convenience with what looks like a USB wired connection to M/S Teams (Lync).

I am pretty much obsessed with this headset. I am a recruiter and am always on the phone. I have another Sennheiser headset for my office, but I got this one for when I'm traveling, driving, or working at the beach. People might look at me like I'm a crazy person for wearing a full call center type headset at the beach, but it blocks out noise and the windscreen cuts out the wind so I can be very productive and make all my sales calls with my feet in the sand. The sound quality is so good that my clients think I'm talking to them from my office. Awesome!

High quality little headset.

A nice lightweight wireless headset, but a couple things nag at me.

In general it's a nice headset for people looking for something lightweight. I imagine this would appeal to people using skype or other teleconferencing programs frequently and want space to move around and not worry about wires. The battery life is quite long. I'm using it primarily for voice chat in discord while gaming and it also works great for that if you're like me and want game sound from your speakers and voice only in the earpiece. Sound quality is good for voice.

The stand that comes included is nice and decently weighty, and the headset attaches via magnet. It holds in place very well.

My only issues come from the earpiece volume being a little too soft (probably helps helps battery life) for my preference. It's not terrible, but I did wish it went just a couple volume ticks higher. When I have my A/C running in the room it could use that extra bump of volume.

The other little nag is the USB port usage. It would have been nice, since the base has a USB connection for charging, to see a pass through USB port on the stand for the bluetooth adapter. USB ports are at a premium on my PC, and I'm having to occupy two of them, one to provide power to the stand, and another for the bluetooth radio. Plugging into a spare wall outlet to USB charger is an option, so it isn't a dealbreaker by any stretch, but having a USB pass through in the stand would have been a nice touch.

Excellent Microphone for Voice Recognition

For a long time, Bluetooth microphones did not do as expected when dictating in voice recognition software such as Dragon Professional Individual. However, this has changed with this microphone.

It is easy to set up and operate. The voice quality is excellent as is the noise canceling features of it. When dictating, there is almost no delay at all in the recognition on the screen.

It is very light in weight, quite comfortable on the head and has an excellent quality earphone speaker.

For someone who does voice recognition dictation and controls their computer by voice, I highly recommend this microphone/headset. It also works extremely well with KnowBrainer Professional 2017 and SpeechStart+ software programs which assist DPI.

I highly recommend this for voice recognition usage.

I really like this headset. I use it for Zoom meetings on my laptop, and use it for my cell phone as well. It works with both devices well, and pairs with both devices at the same time. It fits well - not too tight, yet not falling off when moving around. Note that I did try a $45 headset as well, but I had to send it back because of it being too tight, hurting my ears, and poor microphone performance. So it seems you get what you pay for. I recommend this headset, and am looking to buy a 2nd one for my wife.

False advertising for saying the base is included. Had to send a request to Amazon directly to get the base separately. Second off, for a sennheiser product, this isn't as good as I expected. The audio volume isn't very loud, there is no noise cancelation and the mic is not really adjustable. Given that fact that this costs nearly $200, there are much better quality options out there.
