Russian Peacekeepers Enter the Tense Southern Region of Karabakh
The Russian Ministry of Defense has published a new map of its peacekeeping forces in Nagorno Karabakh, which shows areas in the south transferred from Armenian to Azerbaijani control following renewed fighting over the weekend. On Saturday, Azerbaijan began an offensive towards the Armenian held villages of Khtsaberd and Hin Tagher, the only two areas in the southern Hadrut district that remained under Armenian control after the war. Russian peacekeepers were not present in the area when fighting erupted.
The fighting was the most serious ceasefire violation reported in the area since the trilateral agreement that was signed on November 9, which effectively “ended the war.” According to the agreement, Armenia and Azerbaijan were to hold whatever positions they had at the time the agreement was signed.

Pashinyan says he won’t step down despite growing protests in Armenia
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan says that while there are constant rumors about his resignation, he does not plan to step down unless that’s the will of the Armenian people, majority of which he doesn’t believe want him out of office. In recent weeks, institutions throughout Armenia and the Diaspora, including the Armenian president, the Church, academic institutions, and most political parties, have called for his resignation.
Pashinyan’s My Step Alliance is a parliamentary majority, while most of the current opposition does not currently hold seats.

Գիտությունը` ռազմավարական որոշումներում
Նախորդ հոդվածներից մեկում գրել էի այն մասին, թե ինչպես հայ գիտնականները կարող են մասնակցել հայկական ռազմարդյունաբերության զարգացմանը: Հույս ունենալով քաջալերել գիտնականների ու ինժեներների մասնակցությունը հայրենիքի պաշտպանության գործին՝ թվարկեցի մի քանի կոնկրետ տեխնիկական խնդիրներ, որոնցում նրանք կարող են մեծ ներդրում ունենալ: Բայց գիտնականների դերը կարող է շատ ավելի մեծ լինել, քան զուտ տեխնիկական խնդիրների լուծումը: Գիտնականները կարող են ներդրում ունենալ շատ ավելի վերացական հարցերում, ինչպիսին հակառակորդի ունակությունների գնահատումը և օպտիմալ ռազմական քայլերի ընտրությունն է:

Nikol Pashinyan: An Elected Catastrophe
Nikol Pashinyan is a catastrophe that was elected by 70% of Armenia’s population.It is painful and dangerous especially when those who elected the prime minister - the parliamentary Civil Contract Party and the My Step majority faction - do not recognize this. They continue to live in the "Velvet Armenia" of 2018. But that Armenia no longer exists. They continue to admire and be inspired by a version of Pashinyan that doesn't exist.
Pashinyan is not Transcaucasia's first disaster.
In the early 1990s, Georgia and Azerbaijan had their own philosophically driven leaders - Zviad Gamsakhurdia and Abulfaz Elchibey, respectively - and both brought forth disasters to their countries. Both were elected by the people, just like Pashinyan.

If in fact Pashinyan was planning to sacrifice Artsakh for an alliance with the West, why didn’t certain elements of the opposition take more drastic action to prevent the coming disaster?

We have outlived empires and can build our nation tomorrow
Our “today” must always be defined by the future we envision and not impeded by the past. Up to the start of the Artsakh War, the hottest topic of public discussion and controversy in Armenia was the issue of the content of Armenian history textbooks in schools. Experts, policy makers, intellectuals and politicians were fighting over whether Armenian history goes back to 4000 or 3000 years. History does not secure victory. We must think, discuss and labour as to how we can educate our children to become world class scientists, technologists, innovators, developers and data scientists. Future wars will not be fought with tanks, but with keyboards.

Armenian Prime Minister Congratulates U.S. President-Elect Joe Biden
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan congratulates Joe Biden on becoming the 46th President of the United States. Pashinyan expressed hope that the new administration in Washington “will take active steps to stop the war and bring about a comprehensive settlement” of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.“As a candidate you have laid out a vision for the resolution of the conflict exclusively through peaceful means. I salute that vision,” Pashinyan wrote in his congratulatory message disseminated by his office on Sunday.
“I am hopeful that your Administration will take active steps to stop the war and bring about a comprehensive settlement of the conflict based on safeguards providing for the security of the people of Artsakh [the Armenian name for Nagorno-Karabakh] through the exercise of its right to self-determination.

Can Armenia Mitigate Turkey’s Involvement?
Unless Armenia and Russia manage to come to an agreement on that, this is uncharted territory for Armenia and could precipitate the worst crisis for Armenians since the genocide and its aftermath a century ago. Even in the case of Russia’s involvement, it is clear to me that Turkey will remain involved as well, and its involvement would have to be considered in any future peace talks. In fact, if Armenia could mitigate the extent of Turkish involvement through formal acceptance of Turkey’s diplomatic role - as Turkish officials have said they want to have - it should not be dismissed.

Artsakh’s investors must bring investment claims against Azerbaijan
Since 27 September, as a result of Azerbaijan’s continuing acts of aggression against Artsakh, hundreds of homes and key infrastructures have been destroyed or damaged by heavy artillery fire and by airborne attacks including missiles. Other infrastructures such as roads, electricity, gas, and communication networks have also been damaged.
