Understanding storage system

    Hi @ronalfy

    This plugin looks great. We need a solution with Rest API support.

    As I was looking through the code I realised that the user profile image is being saved as a featured image to a CPT. I am curious what the reasoning is for using this type of data storage instead of perhaps user_meta.

    Back when it was coded, the modal for media was new and quirky, so the best route to use the media uploader was to create an empty post and attach a featured image to it.

    The Media Uploader is a lot more flexible now, but the way the image stored is the same for legacy and backward compatibility.
