Error with Internet Explorer (9-10-11)

Hello.
The plugin, or in fact “google-maps-builder.min.js” generate an error in Internet Explorer. I don’t care of Ie9 but would be great if it could work at least in Ie10/11. No problem in Edge or other browser… As soon as the plugin is disabled, no more problem.
The error is the famous: “Error 445 – “Object doesn’t support this action””
Seems Ie convert all Ids found in the page in javascript variable, that’s a part of the problem…

Hi there,

This isn’t a known issue actually, it’s most likely one of the two issues:

1. It looks like you haven’t created a Google Maps API key. We have docs on that here:
https://wordimpress.com/documentation/maps-builder-pro/creating-maps-api-key/

2. Potentially a plugin conflict. Please deactivate all plugins besides Maps Builder. If it works as expected then re-activate each plugin one at a time until you see the problem again. Then let us know which plugin caused the error and we’ll dig into it.

Ok thanks! Seems every browser works without the Api BUT old IE. there is no more error when I create an API key.

Is there a way to load the plugin javascript only on page that need it?
Because the problem is still here in fact under Ie10-11 (no problem with Edge).
Note that the only other Js that is loading is the Foundation Zurb framework…

Note that on the previous website, I had to replace your plugin with another plugin for now, because of this problem.

The best way to do that is to dequeue the script globally, and then conditionally enqueue it by Page/Post ID. Here’s a sample snippet you can add to your functions.php file or a custom functionality plugin.

I have the same problem on IE 10, even after setting the API key.

With SCRIPT_DEBUG=true, I get the error at google-maps-builder.js line 700:
var gmb_init = new CustomEvent('MapBuilderInit');

According to https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/CustomEvent, CustomEvent constructor is not supported in IE. Following the example at
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/Guide/Events/Creating_and_triggering_events#The_old-fashioned_way
I changed it to
```
var gmb_init = document.createEvent('Event');
gmb_init.initEvent('MapBuilderInit', true, true);
```
which seems to fix the problem (but I didn’t try further whether it causes any other problems…).

Thanks for the great plugin, it’s the best map plugin I’ve found. I hope this helps fixing the problem.

Yes, we had a Pro customer just report this. It looks like a conflict with Visual Composer. Can you confirm, @jarnoan that you’re using Visual Composer?

In my case there is no Visual Composer… In fact without any plugins..

@webdevmattcrom, No, I’m not using Visual Composer. As far as I can tell the issue is in Map Builder using CustomEvent constructor that does not exist in IE.

We don’t have developers working on an active Milestone with Maps Builder at the moment, but as soon as one is freed up I’ll put them on this issue. We can hopefully get it resolved relatively soon.

Just ran into this issue.

Looks like a fix is coming in 2.1.2? Any idea on when that will be coming out?

Ended up replacing the min script with the new one until then (https://raw.githubusercontent.com/WordImpress/maps-builder-core/master/assets/js/frontend/google-maps-builder.min.js)

HI @drivenfaroff we are working on that release now. It might be a few weeks though until its released. We’re balancing our dev load with demands from other plugins we support as well.
